Which games for a 5 year old that loves Mario?

My mate has sold his wii (surprise surprise) and is buying a 360. I've been giving him some advise about where to buy one and which games to get but I don't know anything about any games suitable for youngsters. His 5 year old daughter loves mario on her ds. Are there any good platformers out there that aren't to hard to play?

I know its not a platformer but I remember viva piñata being very popular, will this be suitable for a 5yo?

Any other suggestions appreciated.

Hi,

Both the Viva Pinata games are very good for kids.
Would also recommend the Lego games, Star Wars in particular.
My little one also likes Madagascar 2.

Get him to check out the Arcade games, lots of games on there including sonic, bomberman & DOOM

As others have said you just can't beat the lego games, they're brilliant. My 5 year old also likes Madagascar 2 and playing Bubble Bobble with me mostly. I've also heard that Banjoo Kazooie (spelling?) is quite good but haven't played that myself. I think there's a demo you can download though.

Yeah banjo is a classic N64 game, just as good as Mario but from RARE, which is a brilliant back then developer..

Daughter is 5 and loves Banjo Kazooie - Nuts + Bolts. Can be picked up cheap now too.

I also got her Banjo Kazooie and Banjo Tooie off XBLA.

Worth checking out the demo's for all 3 in my opinion.

If you have a Hyper child, with lots of energy and can muster very active games, Ratchet and Clank, WOW, is all I can say, only played this as a demo yesterday at a mates house, the 1st 1, and it has all sorts of different things thrown in, a bit of sonic, a bit of smash and shoot, very cool game...
Not too hard, but then again, I am awesome at kids games...

ratchet and clank is on ps3

i'd go with the other people recommending all the banjo kazooie games, nuts and bolts can be picked up dead cheap too (the others are xbla)
kids tend to love old classic arcade stuff so maybe some pac man or summat
