Quick fable 2 question!

Hi All
I'm finally going to get stuck into this game after having it for a while and never getting roung to going on it (w@w taking up all my time ).
I've always enjoyed this kind of game ever since becoming addicted to the legend od zelda-A link to the past on the snes
I have played the intro part (where your just a young boy) and not sure about the little line that takes you to your next objective
I really cant understand why this would be there? Surely this takes away the fun of finding things yourself and doing a bit of adventuring?
I found the first bit a little too linear which is why i'm questioning the "guide line thingy".
I think it can be turned off but like I said..I'm unsure why it would be there?!
Am i missing something here????

Thanks

Gaz

Re: Quick fable 2 question!

Its a very valid point but you will find as the game opens out just how huge it is. If it wasn't there many gamers would get stuck, lost or frustrated. You can always turn it off in the options tho.

Re: Quick fable 2 question!

Its on option for you to choose, i felt the same, i wanted to discover the world for myself, so turned it off and was gonna just use the map to get to quests, but the map is really rubbish IMO. So i turned teh line back on, and if i wanted to go off track, i just did and ignored it.

But you will find it useful, when you become lost.

I think the idea was that the breadcrumb trail was meant to act as a guide to put you back on the right path after you went for a wonder around to look at other things so you wouldn't get lost.

I did find the game somewhat linear in parts and in those cases the breadcrumb trail didn't offer much help but there were a few times where I decided I would go off and do something that was not related to my objective/quest (or go through a door/room/area that was not on the way to my objective/quest) and in those cases the breadcrumb trail proved useful.

I think the game makers Lionhead also mentioned something about people spending too much time looking at a map and not the game so they introduced the breadcrumb trail, but then I could just be making this up.

Re: Quick fable 2 question!

I've been playing for a few hours and was starting to think the game wasn't very big. If you do just the story how long does it take?
