Thanks: Gave 36, Got 23 | Best water visuals? BIOSHOCK! BIOSHOCK! BIOSHOCK! BIOSHOCK! BIOSHOCK! BIOSHOCK! BIOSHOCK! BIOSHOCK! BIOSHOCK! BIOSHOCK! BIOSHOCK! BIOSHOCK! BIOSHOCK!
...or GTA IV.
So yeah, I believe those two have the best water visuals. BioShock has been widely recognised for having absolutely stunning water visuals, as well as arguably the best visuals overall in a game, whereas GTA IV's went reasonably unnoticed, though it actually has very nice visuals. What do you guys think? .

Far Cry, nothing fancy in it but still looks stunning with the rolling waves imo. Oblivion had some stunning water too.
Crysis/Crysis Warhead the water is unbelievable and better than anything out there by some margain imo but this isnt a PC thread.

If where talking rivers, lakes, and not drips and splashes, GTA water is amazing.
Reflections, tideal movement etc.

GTA's water didn't get the credit it deserves, it has some nice touches like the sea getting rougher the further from land you take the boat.

Just recalibrated my set and Bioshock... Wow looking like this could be released next week and itd get game of the year!
My test for settings is Fallout 3, jump to the top of a cliffface and watch time go by, its a work of art.

GTA IV is good, but Bioshock sticks out the most for me - that opening scene is unforgettable.

Probably the best opening scene in a game ever. I have to say the final encounter in the game was a let down though, it felt rather generic to have a "big" boss encounter that way after the game had been so different up to that point. Now if the final boss encounter had been along the lines of the scene with golf club (if you've played the game you'll know what I mean instantly) then I think it would have made Bioshock truly king of all games ever.

I also agree about the boss at the end. The golf club scene would've been fantastic, as Bioshock was never really an end of level baddie type of game.
Still one of my all time (if not all time) favourite games ever!!!

They are all good, but I think I am going to wait until Hydrophobia is released before I make my judgement.

Bioshock was amazing....how many people sat there on the opening scene waiting for it to do something before you realised the cut scene had ended and it was in game visuals after the plane crash... awesome.
Also not mentined so far, Batman Arkham Asylam has decent water effects.
