SOME TIPS TO MAKE YOUR FC2 EXPERIENCE BETTER
1.) Please get past the tutorial and play some missions before you pass judgement on the game. This is very important. This game starts slowly and the first hour or so won't blow you away or anything. Give it some time!
2.) This game is somewhat hard and requires you to think. First off, play the game on normal. It provides plenty of a challenge but shouldn't cause you to pull out your hair in frustration. Another above normal will be tough! For all those complaining about having to empty your gun into an enemy to kill him, listen up! Crouching, combined with very short controlled bursts is extremely accurate and will drop the enemy quickly. A headshot will drop the enemy almost instantly.
3.) Before attempting a mission all the way across the map, search and find a safehouse that is near your objective. Clear it out and occupy it. Then save your game. That way, if you die, you will start back near your objective and don't have to travel across the whole map again.
4.) You unlock some things a little ways into the game that allow you to be extremely stealthy, thus making missions easier, especially at night. For example, you unlock weapons with sound suppressors, a dart rifle, and a CAMO SUIT which will help you immensly! At the start of the game, you don't have the camo suit or suppressed weapons and it can be hard to use a stealth approach.
5.) You can also unlock accuracy upgrades, ammo count upgrades, and reliability upgrades for you weapons. Many of these things can be unlocked by completing the convoy missions given to you by the weapons dealers (look for the little gun icon on your map). You will need diamonds to buy the upgrades once you unlock them, so either find the diamonds, or complete missions, or both.
6.) As far as the respawing guarded checkpoints everyone is complaining about, fly past them full speed in your vehicle, hit the emergency break, do a u-turn, hit A and get into the turret seat. Wait for and then shoot the guys following you in the vehicles. You can also throw a grenade under their vehicle once it stops and blow it up. Or, keep your distance from the checkpoints and go around them without alerting the enemy. Also, once you find a dune buggy, it's easy to outrun vehicles that are chasing you.
7.) No, the aiming is not as fluid as COD4. However, after a few hours, you'll adjust and it won't be a big deal anymore. Use the default sensitivity or lower. Anything higher will pronounce the problems with the aiming.
8.) Use the environment to your advantage. Shoot explosive barrels, throw your grenades, start fires to create diversions, etc. But most importantly, scout out the area and develop a plan of attack before you just run in and start acting like Rambo on crack.
9.) People are blowing the whole malaria thing WAY out of proportion. Go to the underground mission (the icon with a bunch of circles inside one another) every now and then and do some missions to earn more malaria pills. Pop a few pills when your screen starts to get blurry and yellow. When he empties the pills into his hand, look to see how many their are, and then go earn some more pills when you're getting low. IT'S THAT SIMPLE.
10.) Use the river to your advantage. Sometimes it's much easier to take a boat to get closer to your objective than going by land. Yes, you will get attacked, but not nearly as much as by land IF you drive by in your boat at top speed and keep going.
11.) Believe it or not, some people are complaining about the graphics. These are some of the best graphics I've seen on the 360, ESPECIALLY for being such a huge world. If you think the graphics are bad, immediately stop playing, box up your 360 and FC2, wrap it in Christmas paper, and give it to someone who can't afford one, because you don't deserve to play it anymore and I'm sure they'd love to have it.
This game offers a BEAUTIFULLY rendered, immersive world that you can get lost in. As someone said earlier, this game combines the immersiveness of Oblivion with the FPS action of a Call of Duty game. Take your time and don't rush through it. That may be a lot of the problem. People are trying to rush through this to get to the next big AAA game coming out (Fallout 3, Fable 2, Gears 2, etc...) and it's frustrating them because they're not making progress as fast as they would like. Stop and smell the roses. Those other games will still be there when your done with FC2.
This game is one of the very best I've played on the 360, now excuse me while I get back to playing......
