Ninja Gaiden 2 Xbox 360 reviews

So,the new game Ninja Gaiden 2 has been released, and gamers will have a chance to play, and discover what the full game holds.
So,if you have played enough of this game/finished the game, etc, and have enough to form an opinion, and if you would like to share that opinion on this game, and what you liked/disliked about it,please make a vote in the poll.

A 10(Outstanding) should only be given for a landmark game that sets new rules, a 9(Excellent) for a truly excellent game without a fundamental flaw, and an average game that does things right but nothing special should get a 5(Average),not a 7 like some reviews would have you believe.

Note:Vote spoilers, and general silly votes(low scores),for no apparent reason, will be treated as vote spoiling, and either the member involved, will have the vote cancelled,or infractions will be given.

Re: Ninja Gaiden 2 Xbox 360 reviews

This game makes me angry. Not because its hard but it punishes you for no reason. getting shot by arrows round a blind corner isnt fair neither is an exploding boss.

The original ninja gaiden was so finely balance whist still being hard. It meant that if you died (which was frequent) it was because you lacked skill. With perseverance however the skill level needed was attainable. This made it one of the finest games of its genre to date. How team ninja could mess things up so bad is beyond me.

The nitty gritty of fight mechanics is still superb but its spoilt by a dodgy camera and the afore mentioned bolts from the blue. Hard bosses are also OK, i honestly don't mind dying several times till i figure out how to kill them but if you are gonna keep spanking me till i kill you the way your prima donna creator (Itagaki) programmed then at least have the decency to allow restarts near the boss itself.

Despite all this it is a good fighter, just couldve been better. I wouldn't give him a bonus for this effort. above average.

Re: Ninja Gaiden 2 Xbox 360 reviews

I finished this over the weekend. I voted for 9/10, a truly excellent game.

I played on Acolyte (easy) difficulty, and that was still challenging enough. This game is punishing, and I can only imagine what the harder difficulties must be like. However, punishing is no bad thing, as it forces you to learn the combat system properly. Even on Acolyte difficulty aimless button-mashing will get you nowhere fast on the later levels.

I don't play a huge amount of hack 'n' slash games, which is probably why I found it challenging, but I enjoyed it so much that I'm already halfway through another go around, and I am also looking forward to trying some of the harder difficulties.

What I liked:
- intuitive yet deep combat system
- Ultimate Techniques and Obliterations
- opportunity for massive enemy-levelling combos
- spendid amounts of gore and violence
- rock solid boss battles
- suitably bonkers story

Managing to nail a 100-hit combo with the dual katanas by chaining OLCs together is something else, and deeply satisfying

Excellent for me, the fighting is really fun and the weapons make it more interesting.
