Demo was ok, Other than the parachute drop there was nothing new, same old game, run shoot, hide and heal, run shoot hide and heal.

looks pretty though, and some nice explosions

Re: Medal of Honour: Airbourne - What do you think

..i like it, been playing this afternoon...online and off ..., one funny thing happened whilst i was playing the campaign , i threw a grenade at the enemy but just as i threw it one of my team ran straight in front of me, the grenade hit his helmet bounced back and blew me up ....

Still all in all i think its a great game and will tide me over nicely until Halo 3 and COD 4 come out ...

Was hooked by the demo so can't wait for it to drop through the post box. Pre-ordered it at SoftUK, first time I've used them so don't know how they are on delivery. Just upgraded to Gold Live account as well so will hopefully see you online!

Re: Medal of Honour: Airbourne - What do you think

Didn't really know where to post this but........

Anyone know if the prices on the Gamestation website (ordering online) are the same as in store?

They're showing Medal of Honour: Airbourne as £29.99 new on the site and you can put it in the basket at that price. Don't want to wait for it to be delivered tho, want to go get it tomorrow.

Or

However, it may be its a mistake on the site cos tho there's none available "used" as you'd expect the "used" price is £37.99.

If it's a mistake someone here might want to grab the chance of a bargain!

Game, Virgin, Play etc all seem to be about £37.99-£39.99.

Re: Medal of Honour: Airbourne - What do you think

i got this 2day, havent played it yet but i liked the demo, it seems to have gotten good reviews, but u have to give the game time. From what ive heard the first few levels arent very exciting, it sorta breaks u in slowley. After that it really picks up.

So looking forward to playing it later

Re: Medal of Honour: Airbourne - What do you think

I must admit that i'm really bored with WW 2 shooters now. I think COD3 finished me off. I quite enjoyed it but don't have any desire to play anymore. Did try the demo, thought it was ok but did reinforce my own personal thoughts on that sort of game.

On the other hand, COD4 looks amazing.

Medal of Honour: Airbourne - Reviews

Added poll!

----------------------------

So, what did you make of Medal of Hoonour: Airbourne then? Post your impressions, and please leave a vote in our poll.

A 10 should only be given for a landmark game that sets new rules, a 9 for a truly excellent game without flaw, and an average game that does things right but nothing special should get a 5 (not a 7 or 8 like some would have you believe).

Please only vote if you've played enough of the game to comment.

Re: Medal of Honour: Airborne - Reviews

Bought today, played a bit.

I wont vote in the poll till i've played some more.

Suffice to say i traded COD 3 after 2 days of ownership

This however, what i've seen so far, is brill Loving it.

Edit - I didn't bother looking at the poll, didn't think there'd be any yet....but just noticed 7 votes and it only came out today Errr are you giving it a chance? Playing on easy? or incredibly good gamers to have got through so much?

Actually Munkey boy the fella earlier who said his mate took it back because of online play has a point. To get a fair vote do you include online AND offline?
I only bought it for the single player side, not interested in online, play it-trade it I for one will only be voting from a single player aspect.

Hi Kinky,

Out of interest did you get it in store and was it the same price as your bargain thread?

loved frontline, hated rising sun, hoped it would be on the mark of frontline with better graphics etc.
disappointed with the demo really, but i will still get it when it becomes cheaper, its not worth 35- 40 quid imo.

Re: Medal of Honour: Airborne - Reviews

Enjoying it so far and the "openness" of the play will lend itself to return visits. It's almost worth dying just so you can try and find a differnt route. A few elements require a little thought to get right and, on normal play, nothing so far is so hard that you say 'S** it!' though I have just got to some narzee Rambo/Michael Myers who may cause me some distress.

So far it hasn't been scoring too highly on my swearometer, don't know if that's a good thing or bad. The size of your playgorund is quite nice, especially when you get to the industrial complex/train yard.

Can't wait for BIA though, this has whetted my appetite for some more WWII assaulting.

Your Pal hasn't given it a chance then. I've had it for 2 days and I think its really good, so much better than Call Of Duty 3 (I never even finished that one). The levels are big and can be attacked from a few different directions.

I am playing it on the hardest level and it is difficult

Have not tried online yet. I paid £34 from Game

Nah sorry virtual, i got it in store in Game, £39.99 but traded in Crackdown and Graw2 (finished both, not interested in multiplayer for those). Couldn't wait for delivery, had to have it today so paid top whack with about £22 knocked off for trade in.

Spent the whole day playing single player, superb, well worth the money IMO. So many people say "oh just another ww2 shooter" but to me they just get better and better. Of course its gonna be another ww2 shooter, ww2 is ww2, what do folk want? A guest appearance by Osama Bin Laden? The parachuting, the sheer scale, the enemy AI (almost), the different and varied angles of approach. It's just my opinion i know but it's the best yet. COD 4 will be better i'm sure, and i'll buy that as well, but that's what it's all about for me... progression, each one a little bit different, adding a bit more here and there until.........one day.......we'll end up with the ultimate ww2 shooter 'nother coupla days i'll be ready to vote, but i'm old, and slow and it takes me a while to get there
