Red Dead Redemption

This months Gamesmaster has a world exclusive preview. It sounds fantastic, basically GTA in 1908 america's wild west. Story is being penned by award winning writer Dan Houser. This is apparently a very big project that they have wanted to do for a long time.

Graphics look stunning and they are planning to have a proper living, reathing world. When you kill someone, the buzzards in the sky start circling and eventually swoop down to feed on the corpse - along with other little critters like rabbits etc.

Ive been waiting for a decent western era game to come along since Gun's release - looks like this is deffinately going to fill the void.

Got Call Of Juarez 2 comin too. Red Dead Revolver on the PS2 still the best western I played by far tho

Well it says it is using the euphoria engine so I would imagine that they will be using a huge chunk of the GTA engine as well.

Aparantly Red Dead Revolver was developed by Capcom originally, but they decided to drop it and Rockstar picked it up. It was a very arcadey action experience according to the magazine which explains the Capcom roots.

Rockstar have wanted to do a sequel on a huge scale for a long time, so it says.

Yeah i've been watching this since first announced, and it looks fab.

I'm hoping they allow co-op online, so you and a small posse of mates can roam about like the "Free Play" or whatever GTA4 does - and at least they cant have the awful mobile-phone lobby system that game has

As long as it has a better "look" than gta4, which I hated. Then I would love a good cowboy game. YEEEHAAWWWWW

Co-op Posse mode would be awesome, chasing down a gang of rustlers and banditos

As for communication, suppose you would get issued with a native American to send out smoke signals for you.

I think thats just an early tech demo, the screenshots in the magazine look much better and nice and detailed and sharp!
