As i understand it ( could be wrong )

Ghost recon ( pc ) was GR 1

GRAW was GR2

GRAW 2 was GR 3

New game will be Ghost Recon 4

Re: Ghost recon 4

Ghost Recon was on xbox too, then they brought out that expansion pack thing which then led to Ghost Recon 2 coming out I think... Hmm Wiki time!

*EDIT + EDIT no.2*

Here's the list-

Ghost Recon
Ghost Recon: Desert Seige (Seems to be PC only)
Ghost Recon: Island Thunder (Xbox + PC)
Ghost Recon: Jungle Storm (PS2 + N-Gage)

Ghost Recon 2 (PS2, Gamecube + Xbox)
Ghost Recon 2: Summit Strike (Xbox)

Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter (PC, PS2, Xbox + Xbox 360)
Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 (PC, PS3, PSP + Xbox 360)

So possibly 4 will be the next upgrade if GRAW + GRAW 2 are classed as 'Ghost Recon 3 + Expansion Pack'

Re: Ghost recon 4

It says for release in fiscal year 2009-2010, which I'm guessing runs from April 2009 - April 2010.

I would hope it goes back to the days of the originals, Ghost Recon , Ghost Recon Island thunder. Just dont get these newer ones. Also the days of having 2 and 3 teams was class.

Re: Ghost recon 4

Hope it can compete with Operation Flashpoint 2. No1 has really gone as serious as Ghost Recon until now so hopefully they dont slip into the arcade genre. Ghost Recon's crosshair has been lame in the past so i hope they improve it and also make it so there arent unrealisticly 200 ememies against 2 people.

Not sure if anyone has picked up on this other bit of news. The multiplayer beta will be open to people who pick up Splinter Cell: Conviction when it is released.

Agreed.

I love all the Tom Clancy games, especially Ghost Recon and Rainbow Six. Can't wait for a new GR game, it's long overdue. IMO, both blow COD/MW out of the water

This is great news!

I see that you can get a invite to the MP beta (due summer) with Splinter Cell conviction!

Can't wait, ghost recon games are quality, it's just a shame the last one didn't really take off online.

Obviously people played it but soon moved on to the next big thing.

I played the GRAWs online, but Ubisoft's clunky lobby system never made it much fun to get going.

god i remember the long nights with a few certain members on here.
Some nights we could wait for an hour before starting a game. Made some good friends tho as the banter in the lobby kept us going.

I played a fair bit of GRAW2 online, and one of the biggest attractions was the apparent lack of the usual lobby idiots that seem to infect COD/Halo etc....looking forward to another installment. Hope the good folk on my Friends List take to it a little more than they did GRAW2.

I loved how much power the host had, could force team swaps and could even force people to spectate or just kick them

Live action trailer:

IGN Video: Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier Xbox 360 Trailer - Live-Action Trailer

I'm guessing it showcases some of the ideas they have for the actual gameplay.

Spot the Power Tripper

You're right though, GRAW 2 was so customisable, with loads of gametypes that were genuinely interesting. The co-op missions are still strong to this day and there are a few people still playing it. Can't wait for it.

EDIT - That trailer looks absolutely awesome

I barely played online on GRAW2 unless it was co-op stuff with friends (who didnt have problems with)

The class customisation was awesome though
