I just played through the (rather short) demo of this on the PS3, as it's available on the regular PSN now. I really liked it and I think I might get this over Enslaved if I don't end up buying both.

The frame rate did dip in places, but it's an older build, so that may be sorted in the retail build. Other than that the graphics are really nice and the game has a cinematic feel to it. The combat is similar to God of War or Dante's Inferno, with upgrades you can buy and the occasional quicktime or button mashing event. There was a section in the demo where you ride a horse through a forest at speed, while guys on these giant boar things attack you, which was pretty cool. The music's good and the voice acting is great (as you would expect considering who's involved in it), although I didn't pay much attention to the script. For a 1.5GB download, the actual gameplay element of the demo only lasts about 5 minutes, but I definitely liked what I played.

I read on NeoGAF that MS have the 360 demo (this is according to a tweet from one of the developers I think), so I would expect it'll be on Live soon.

The Hut is selling this for £31.93. Can't find any of those voucher codes for an extra £2 off tho.

Try "HAV2". Dunno if it's still active though.

If you sign up to Walkers rainy day thingymajig Walkers Rainy Days and complete a little survey, they will give you 2 points which you can then use to obtain a 10% off voucher for the hut.

I did it to preorder this and it comes to £28.74 plus go through quidco if you want another couple quid cashback.

Cheers for that. £28.74 plus I whacked COD Black Ops in the basket too for £38.64. Hopefully I'll get that the weekend before release like I did with MW2 last year from them

Had a go with the demo last night (PS3 demo) and really enjoyed it. Looks great, the combat was fairly fluid and it seems to have a fairly deep character advancement and development structure. Its very reminiscent of the likes of God of War and even Star Wars The Force Unleashed (which I am currently playing) but the setting, lore and storyline seem excellent.

Cant wait to get my grubby mitts on this for review, expecting bug things from this as im hyped up on all the good reviews and publicity its been getting recently. Being compared to God Of War, well that must say something about the quality of it tbh

Demo's up on Live now. Don't really rate the combat that high, strikes don't seem as solid as some of the other hack and slashers I've played but the story and narrative looks pretty damn good

Downloaded the demo overnight so I'll get it a whirl tonight after work. It's up against Enslaved for me as I really liked that demo and both games are out on Friday aren't they

Played this demo today as well, felt so much like Fellowship of the Ring in both look, narration and music, which isn't a bad thing obviously, I did find the combat a bit weird in some places as when enemies off screen rush at you but overall very good.

Another one for Santa.

Got this through today for reviewing and from what ive played (granted only an hour) but it seems very good. Graphics are top notch and the combat seems very solid and has had a lot of thought put into it and plays very well. This is the first game where i have used the blocking and evading as a part of combat as it flows and fits very well into the mechanic. This is on two discs too, or the review copy has is at any rate.

This is the first games released where you can install both discs and play through it with just one of them in the drive too. Hopefully other devs will do that going forward. Forza doesn't count, cos one disc was just DLC.

It seems that what I posted above is false, even though it was mentioned in various articles on gaming sites that you could install both discs, but then play through the game without having to swap them.

If you have a PS3 and 360 and don't have controller preferences, I would get this on the PS3. The game isn't linear, so you don't just go from disc 1 to disc 2 and then the game ends. You have to go back and revisit earlier areas, which means swapping discs more than once, which is really bad design.

I thought you could install disc1 and play completely from disc2 - is that incorrect?

Sadly, yes. The developer who originally said that seems to have completely made it up, because there is no option in the game menu to install disc 2 as he originally said. You can install both discs as you would normally install games, but you can't play the game with just disc 2 inserted, which was the original claim.

I noticed framerate issues in the demo of the PS3 version and in the same section of the full game on the 360 (which is the beginning of the game), but after that section is over I haven't really noticed it. Usually a poor framerate is something I notice right away and it puts me off games, Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing being one example, but even though Eurogamer's analysis does show that both versions of this game have framerate issues (with the PS3 version performing marginally better than the 360 version), it hasn't affected me yet, outside of the initial level where I did notice it.
