I wanted to start a thread to see which games people have pre-ordered or will soon be pre-ordering? We all know that come the Autumn alot of big games will start to be released and this will continue right through the run up to christmas and beyond into the first quarter of 2010. There's ALOT of potentially good games coming out, so what will people be picking up?

Has the credit cruch affected peoples buying attitude this time around? Are people being selective with their pre-orders and purchases? or are you pre-ordering all the games you want regardless?
Do you pick up games on release anymore? or do you wait until after release and pick up a bargain? do you rent most new releases?
Do people even pre-order any more?, or do you wait for reactions to games before spending your hard earned cash?

To get the ball rolling I'll tell you my pre-orders (not sure when I'll have time to play them all though.)

Batman Arkham Asylum (28th Aug release)
Halo: ODST (22nd Sept release)
Dead Rising 2 (25th Sept release)
Modern Warfare 2 (10th Novemeber)
Assassins Creed 2 (20th November release)
Left 4 Dead 2 (20th Novemebr release)

I also have my eyes on WET and Alpha Protocol, but am waiting to see how these games are recieved before making a decision.

The above are all released in 2009 but I'll soon be pre-ordering the below titles as these really interest me and are down for early 2010 release...

Splinter Cell Conviction
Bioshock 2

Crysis 2
Aliens Vs Predator

There are many other potentially great games coming out like Max Payne 3, Forza 3, Thief 4, Ghost Recon 4, Dark Void, Red Dead Redemption, Avatar, Mafia 2, Lost Planet 2, Mass Effect 2, Tekken 6, Borderlands, Fifa 10, Wolfenstein and many more.

So, who's ordering what?

My current preorder list comprises of DiRT 2 and Left 4 Dead 2, should tide me over for a while

Of course may pick up a couple others on release(Dead Rising 2 is likely), will wait for reviews on those.

I will only pre-order a game if the price is better than what I think I will get it for once it's released. At the moment I only have one game on Pre-order and that's Halo: ODST. This was from argos for £26.99.

Most of the games you mention are ones that are currently on my radar but haven't put a pre-order in just yet as I don't think I will have enough time to play them all. I've got games sitting here that I haven't even put in my 360 yet. I've had The Darkness for about a year and I only just played it for the first time last week.

Modern Warfare 2 looks tempting though

I've got two games on pre-order at the moment, Halo ODST and Modern Warfare 2.

Other games that are on my radar are Operation Flashpoint, Assassins Creed 2 and Splinter Cell Conviction. Probably won't pre-order these, but pick them up as and when.

The back end of the year is shaping up to be as big for games as last year. Infact the only big noticeable franchise absence will be Gears !

Likewise I've pre-ordered Halo 3:ODST from Argos for £26.99, as a new release for under £27 seemed like a bargain at the time. Now I'm not so sure though, Amazon have it listed for 29.99 and I'm sure someone will be offering it for £25 before launch. Plus the fact that Argos charge from the date you ordered not dispatch (which was about 2 months ago).

I've also pre-ordered Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 from Tesco's (£35 seemed too good an opportunity to pass up!) and Alan Wake from Game for £25.

Besides those I've got my eye on around 10 games coming out before the end of the year and another 5 or so next year.
I have no idea where I'm going to get the time/money to play on them all

NBA 2K10 for only £29.99 from play,

and stuck a £2 pound deposit at the local for Modern Warfare 2, cant wait for the midnight opening.

Most of those games are on my radar for purchase or rental. I currently have a preorder for Arkham Asylum, can't wait for that. I was late to the 360 scene so have plenty of older titles I bought last year/early this year which I still haven't completed such as Assassin's Creed, Fable II and GTA IV. I also recently bought Ghostbusters and COD4.

AA is the only essential for me so far, I will most likely pick up MW2 on release too.

I really enjoyed Crackdown and Prototype so Crackdown 2 will be a must have on release if the pre-release buzz is high.

Also used to love fighters, Tekken 2 especially, so I'll be watching Tekken 6.

The economic downturn won't affect my decisions but since I still have a lot of titles to play through, I'll be more choosy and just pick up essentials on release and pick up others as and when - ideally when on offer.

I also use lovefilm so will hopefully try some out on rental if lovefilm send me any newer titles!

MW2 is a must for me, ive pre-ordered from play, however i'm thinkin perhaps getting it from game on the midnight launch which i assume they will do.....
unless play deliver it the day before, my post doesnt come till the afternoon so whilst everyones ranking up online. ill be twiddling my thumbs.
i'm tempted by dirt2, loved the first one and its on my radar. alan wake may also make an appearance, but its been so long since i saw the trailer i cant remember if i was tempted.....
fifa10 will be a late purchase, say a few days after release, as much as i love wiping the floor with people online, i figure ive got plenty of stuff to do on fifa09 still to keep me occupied.

The titles I'm keen on are, for once, mostly single player experiences this time around. Or I want them for the SP rather than the MP if there is both.

The exceptions are Halo: ODST and Modern Warfare 2, which I'm getting mainly for MP.

The others I'm keeping an eye on are:

Dont really pre-order any more I wait and see who offers the best deal. i rarely move from shopt however. as well as best prices they deliver earlier too.

Halo ODST is a full fiver cheaper than play with the same reach beta opportunity.
