The PS2 game? I remember that, it was ok. I like a good mecha, but i've never quite worked out what makes one good or not. For example i never liked the Xbox1 MechAssault games (too slow, little upgrading/customisation), Zone of the Enders (basically 3d fighting game) or WarTech: SenkoNoRonde (2D fighting game), but compare them to ones i like which are very similar: ChromeHounds and Steel Battalion, (early) Armored Core, Virtual On.
But yeah i'll try anything, it's just a pity Japan gets so much more, forcing you to importing stuff like Tetsujin 28-GO, Gigantic Drive or ones i cant even pronounce. Still it's a dying genre...
Not sure about MechWarrior (5), is it FPS only? Will it be a proper FASA game, or just the name and the licence raped like Shadowrun

and what about this quote: "Weisman and Bullock both explained how they want every class of mech to really matter in this game; it's not just a race to the heaviest, most powerful mechs." yeah that'll be hard if it's online at all.
Everyone always runs for the biggest armour and biggest guns always. Well except for a few masochists
