Im not really one for SP campaigns i get bored very quickly, but im really enjoying the MOH campaign even more so than MW2.

I had a hour on the MP last night its ok but not as good as BFBC. The snipers are a big pain in the arse. I spend most of my gaming time playing MP so i hope i get into it.

With that in mind is it worth taking a gamble on ?
The SP is similar to that of BFBC2. The MP, from what people are saying, is similar to but not as polished as BFBC2.

How to survive in Medal of Honour Multiplayer

Just a small beginning for something I think will grow in time. Many people are complaining about the game being 'unfair' and 'too hard' when it comes to multiplayer.

Well, wake up time kiddies, this is WAR, its not about being fair its about winning. To help insure your team achieves victory (or at least to help keeping you from looking like a complete noob) this thread will contain tips on what to do and more importantly what NOT to do.

#1 The BIG ONE as I will refer to it as in the future, assume that ANY open space you come to is being watched by snipers. 90% of the time this is true, but in the 10% chance it isnt, its still a good tactic to pratice and make a habit of.

#2 The rule of Two. No I am not reffering to the law of the Sith, this rule is the simple truth that you want to keep 2 meters (thats six feet for those that cant convert metric) between you and your buddies at all time. The reason is that 6 feet happens to be the kill radious of most hand gernades.

#3 Corner's are your worst enemy. Never step around a corner and continue moving, you will likely die this way (see #1 for reasons) Instead pratice the 'hookie pokie' by stepping out then quickly stepping back. most snipers and lurkers are trigger happy and will fire at the first sign of movement. This is a good test to ensure you arent walking into a trap.

#4 Noob's are your best friend. Yes people, even the lowly noob can be of great help to you. Keep them in sight, preferably in front of you. Typically they will walk into every trap, alert every sniper and generally be a very useful distraction. Use them to avoid death by letting them die in your place. They are also helpful in figuring out WHERE exactly snipers are hiding.

#5 Windows are death traps, avoid them. If you are inside and look up, a sniper will pick you off. If you are outside and look in, someone with a shotgun will kill you.

#6 Ladders are for suckers, avoid them. If you try to climb up, you will get picked off by someone (usually a sniper) before reaching the top. IF you manage to reach the top there will be someone waiting for you to finish you off.

#7 Doors are indestructable and make great shields, unfortunatly gernades are AOE attacks and 'magically' damage you anyways. Only solid walls can stop the almighty hand gernade.

#8 You are not Rambo, The Terminator, James Bond, or anyone form of super soldier. Assume otherwise and you will die, usually looking like a noob in the process. There is no such thing as an 'army of one' either. You need your team mates and they need you.

#9 Ally snipers ARE your friend, but they dont want to play with you. They have a job so let them do it. Its harder for the other side to find them when they are by themselves, so leave them alone and avoid them as you would an enemy sniper.

More to come.

Thomas.
This reads like an episode of Burn Notice

good work though fella

Try the objective modes for the moment, you can spawn next to colleagues or away from the action back at base. Trying to get an update on a patch at the moment, hopefully that'll resolve the spawn issue.

Finished the single player. Only took a few hours, but then again i was blasting through on easy. I enjoyed it more then mw2, much more engaging and a higher sense of realism. Now for hard.

MP is annoying me a little, snipers everywhere and no matter how tactical i try to be a bloody camper picks me off.

To anyone that's playing the single player, I've just started playing again and I'm stuck straight away on the first level of day 2: -

At the start of day 2, you jump out of the back of a plane into the snow. All you have is a knife and your night vision goggles are buggered and keep cutting out. You have to get to where one of your other blokes is standing, but I can't see how you get to him. You crawl down this thin path and on the HUD it says I'm only about 10 metres away, but the thin path ends and there's nowhere to go. I've tried every other direction, but you just meet invisible walls everywhere. Clearly I'm missing the path somewhere, but for the life of me I can't find it. Can anyone help?

Gow, Halo, Cod, Etc, all have problems with people camping, the easy way to stop it is for developers to remove sniper rifles from games.

Yep that is what I am finding.
Snipers just sitting back and taking you out with 1 shot and you have no idea where it has come from. And people camping at spawn points

Spawn Die..Spawn Die.....Spawn Die

I honestly cant see that many changes since the Beta so if you did not like the Beta then your not going to like this online.

Camping isn't a problem that developers should address IMO. It's a legitimate strategy for playing the game and clearly a design choice or there wouldn't be sniper rifles in games.

Spawn camping is a different matter though, because that can totally ruin games.

I dont rate the MP at all. It is nothing like BC2 for those that said it is, its more like mw2 only gayer and more annoying with less weopons and unlocks.

a better way in games would be to have fixed sniper towers where u can only use the mounted sniper rifle there, this way those who wish to take a chance on it can, u would then be able to see where u are being killed from at least.

a bit like using the Troika on gow.

It did with my games earlier and sometimes you have no idea where they are. They could be behind a wall spamming grenades or the launcher.

3 times in a row I spawned and died instantly.
This needs sorting because it really is easy to do and as soon as people learn the spawns then your going to get raped big time in most games.

And considering the small amount of playlists I dont think it will hold peoples interests unless it gets patched ASAP.

For the average gamer, if they have purchased this and completed the SP quite quickly and then try out MP and spend alot of games getting spawn killed over and over your not going to stick at it long

agreed.

I cannot believe that people are dismissing the MP so quickly based on the snipers. I am sure that they'll calm down, get bored and move onto playing the other classes.

I agree that it can be a little bit silly with loads of people all camping, but nothing more enjoyable than flanking them and shotgun/knife/axing them.

Infact if I get on again tonight that's all I'm gonna do

The only way it is like MW2 is that at the moment it is full of dicks using just the launchers or spawn killing. No way does the game play like MW2 at all.
This is a poor mans BFBC

Personally I'd disagree, but then i'm a sucker for most online FPS.

If you love MW2, and not really interested in BFBC2, then moving to this may be a bit of a shock.

However, I would like to state that it does play (for me anyway) very differently to BFBC2. It's alot more frenetic and games a lot quicker. I have only played Sector (like domination in COD or Conquest in BFBC) so far and really enjoy it.

Guess i'm too easily pleased

Answer below.

When you follow the trail to the right and cannot go any further, turn to your left and there is a small gap/hole that you have to lay prone and crawl through. Through the gap is the first guard who you have to kill with a melee attack.

It has some great features but it has too many negatives at the moment.
Am sure it will improve but at the moment its not exactly fun and for some reason I dont feel like i'm firing the gun
Not sure if thats the lag but sometimes it feels like i'm not controlling my dude at all.

Oh and do not just wander round a corner because you will get a rocket to your face or grenade at your feet. If you try and flank them then bang your dead from a sniper.

The Marketplace Map has been improved though and does look alot better compared to the Beta

To be fair, I only found it when I stuck the old night vision goggles on....I went wandering around aimlessly for ages too!

Was thinking of getting MoH but might hold out until the BC Vietnam pack is released. BFBC2 is still the king.

Pretty much agree with everyones comments on the MP. I got hacked off being spawn killed, Mortered and misile attacked so thought id check out the leader boards. Most of the top 4 pages were of guys with less than 6hrs play with 4000 odd kills. I checked their gamer tag and they had most MP cheevos already.

I thought Id enjoy it but Im not. Im not one to moan about KD ratio as sometimes im onfire sometimes not but when you get shot from impossible places you just cant enjoy it. I respect DICE but they must have had half a head on BC2: Vietnam.

Shame....

Mmm i think i quite like the multiplayer. I've only played the sector multiplayer so far but i like the fact you can't run around like a headless chicken, unless you want to die a lot.

I find if you play it more like BFBC and take your time going through the areas it's a lot less frustrating, and now i have swapped the melee button from the stick i have stopped just standing there a waving my knife at people all the bloody time instead of shooting them.

My only complaints would be, the maps are to small, why a sniper class when the maps are so small ? And of coarse the spawn killing.

Just been playing the other mp modes. Objective mode is brilliant. Really good mode. Not played so much team assault yet tho.

The servers I played O.R in were fine to be fair. Once people get bored with sniping combat mission will calm down , least I hope so as the beta was fine on it.

nice life story there , people have different tastes or game styles that they enjoy , if your dubious about it give it a rent supposed to be really short anyway

I just took in BC2 to get this.. I wasnt really getting much from the BC2 single player so I wanted something with a good plot and was told to try this out. So far Im pretty impressed with the single player, some co op wouldnt go amis but otherwise its pretty good.

Multiplayer does have a few problems with snipers but Im not too fussed... just means I have to get better. I got a bit bored of the lack of games modes in BC2 (always seemed to land on the same maps too) so the variety is good for now. Ive not redeemed my vip code though as a trade in may be done.

Overall, worth 40 quid but I wish id waited till it was a bit cheaper :D
