It's pretty much the same as the first game, but with a few extra toys and infected characters to spice things up. But that's no bad thing, as the original was awesome. Graphics seem a bit smoother too.

My only complaint so far is that the AI teammates are pretty stupid. Several times I've been pinned or smokered and they just stand there doing nothing!

They're also really useless during the new crescendo events (the one in the shopping mall, for example), where you have to rush through quickly as a unit; I've found they tend to lag behind and get easily distracted taking out zombies, rather than watching your back and pushing forward with you.

But this game has always played best with a team of friends, and L4D2 seems to put more emphasis on that dynamic.

i have heard u can use it if u pick it up when someone drops it, it's only a rumour though, will find out later.

No, I think its a GAME exclusive. I've heard that if someone with the code plays a co-op game, then all team-mates have access to the baseball bat too. Not sure if its just for that match or permanent.

I agree with Dazza above about the AI. I thought they were rock solid in the first game, but they seem to have gone a bit stupid for the sequel. I was getting pinned and surrounded and Phyllis (not good with names) just stood there with her baseball bat looking blank.

The chainsaw is awesome and melee weapons and other add-ons for weapons are very welcome too - is that the SCAR-H in the shop?
Only played one campaign but loving it as always, maybe this time SP will be less of an option than co-op though.

I prefer the AI to randoms in this :/ was on the finale of Dead Center (?) and with 3 AI teammates I was just away to finish the level. 3 people joined and they died in seconds

I tried it 3 more times with them and quit because they were so useless. They all had their mics on but just sat there in silence when I tried to get some teamwork going

The game is awesome though, there is much more variety than the first (weapons, enemies and locales) and I can see me playing this for a long time

Howdy all,

Anyone else get Left 4 Dead 2 today?

I'll be online later with it hopefully able to start a mission from start to finish.

Loved the first one but the single player was just pointless.

Good distraction from Modern Warfare 2 and Assassins Creed 2.

Was £38.99 instore at Game so traded in FM3 and got £25 trade off and paid the rest , be on this tomorrow probably as have to go out and "socialise" apparently....

Apparently, it's available to all players during a campaign as long as one person out of the four has redeemed the code.

Cheapest place to get it is Argos suprisingly... £34.99 for the next 3 days! I get an extra 10% off with them so I picked my copy up today for £31.50 - not too bad - although I don't think it's justified when it seems so similar to what I bought last year. Anyway still good!

Played it last night til 1am.
with three chaps from the west midlands.

It can be noticably harder than the first one, even on normal.

it took us about 8 attempts to get through level 4 of the first campaign, it was only when we tried the tactic of sticking close together, and I mean really close, that we got through it.. easily.

and the levels are long, so probably won't get too boring too quickly.

Achievement help for GONG SHOW (Prove you are stronger than Moustachio).

Play Dark Carnival part 4 - The Barns. You'll see one of those strength machines that you need to whack with a melee weapon - there's a crowbar in the covered eating area nearby if you don't. The only snag is you need the adrenaline activated before you can hit it hard enough...

Achievement STACHE WHACKER (Prove you are faster than Moustachio) - there's a whack a mole game (activated with X) nearby to the previous machine. I'm not too sure how I got it, just kept swinging my crowbar and it unlocked on the third continue.

Was playing campaign last night, decided to play it first to get to know the maps and stuff...
That first level is a bugger! And yes, the maps are MUCH larger than before. The last bit for fuelling the car, wow that was tough... took a good 4 goes to get it done.

Enjoying it much more than the demo led me to believe I would, and I've only played the first campaign!

Oh, and a FR sent to the gamertag onthe first page, cheers Monkey

All you have to do is run around grab the petrol throw it all in one spot on the bottom floor , then que the cutscene
