Tekken 6 Play & Help

Couldn't see another thread on this so thought I would open one, just for discussion.

Never played a Tekkn Game since 3 on the original PSX, but when I was in Japan a few months back they had Tekken 6 in the Arcade, me and a friend spent alot of Yen playing it, and even bought fight-sticks over there since we had become such fans of the genre.

Both got our pre-orders in and picked up the game yesterday.

I really like it, I am a bit miffed about the thrid person aspect of the single player, but I guess it's an addition to those who want it. Playing on normal I do alright but struggle with a few higher tier guys in Arcade Mode so might have to practice some more. Just playing with all the characters at the moment trying to find one I like.

What are your thought's on the game, the online and modes. What characters do you like to use?

Please also, if you discuss secret achievements can you spoiler tag them, I know myself (and maybe others) don't want them revealed.

Re: Tekken 6

Didn't think it was all that great to be honest. Posted first impressions in the preview thread.
I will be trying the online side of it tonight with a friend who I normally play SF4 with, hopefully that will bring back some of the old Tekken flavour I remember from Tekken 2,3,4 and 5.

If it still doesn't grab me after that then will just get some achievements and move on to the next

Re: Tekken 6

i think this is crap.

theyve taken a tried and tested winning formula and tried to turn it into too much. the scenario mode is cack. feels like a ps1 game.

arcade mode is good at least. but thats not enough.

refund please

I have played the Scenario mode now for a few hours, not only is it great for collecting items/money but items also upgrade your character, so it has a mini RPG aspect to it which I am enjoying so far. I have definatly warmed up to it.

Re: Tekken 6

I picked this up yesterday, but having spent little time on previous incarnations of the series, I could do with some guidance.

Does anyone know where you can get hold of the Tekken 6 strategy guide in the UK? Having done a few google searches, I know it has been published by Bradygames, but I'm struggling to get hold of a copy from a reputable supplier.

Any help on this would be appreciated- cheers.

Re: Tekken 6

When you are doing the scenario, don't forget you can choose the woman to uograde her too! PLUS when you upgrade yourself, you can only have one item per type, i.e. only one item that ups your power. If you have more than one item of the same type, neither will work.

I know that sounds REALLY basic, but its not very well explained.

I have played it about 5 hours now and am on 700+G!

To complete the scenario proper there are a few hidden levels which are not that easy to find!

Online there are a few idiots out there who if you beat them send you abusive mails, so be warned!

Re: Tekken 6 Play &

Scenario mode becomes especially useful when you complete it. Turn it to hard and beat the stage where you fight Leo and you will unlock Mokujin's stage.

By this time you want to have Alisa and yourself kitted out with items that improve the money items by 400%+ and item drops by 90%+. My Kazuya has money items at 480% and item drops at 150%. 350 added to health bar, 80% added to attack strength and 25% of electrifying the opponent. Alisa is similar.

When you make it to the circular room, if you use a bound move the floor will break. You can complete it really easily as the enemies die when the floor breaks and will drop items and money. There are about 5/6 floors to break through.

You come across about 15 golden Mokujins who drop 3 bags of money each. Each single bag giving you about 35000 in money. You can finish the stage with a lot of new items (5 every time at least) and about 2,500,000 in money. It only takes about 4-5 minutes.

You can also pick up S rank items from this stage to unlock that achievement. Also, you slowly start picking up special items that arent available to purchase in customize mode.

I would have to say not really. It's worth a rental definitely, but I got bored of the single player fighting quite quick.

It's OK online though.

I would wait until it was 18quidish at least.

Hope that helps.

Re: Tekken 6 Play & Help

I picked this up today and what a dissapointment, it's utter crap. Given the reboot that SF4 had I was hoping for something similar and this is not it. I used to love Tekken espcially 3 and maybe it's rose tinted glasses but I couldn't get into it, everything about this game is bad I wouldn't recommend it to anyone

I was also quite disappointed by this game. The graphics are poor to say the least. Getting loads of lag online also. I think we've been spoiled by DOA4, Virtua Fighter 5 and Street Fighter 4.

Anyway back on topic. I'm struggling in survival mode, I play as Eddie Gordo and can get to level 8 easily with full health and then the AI becomes invincible and starts doing loads of combos. Anybody else had this?

Have you upped all your stats and your partners? You do with new outfits you collected.

Took me ages to realise that!

Havent played scenario mode yet. Had a quick play online and then survival mode. Played all the other versions so I know some of the characters moves quite well but just got taken apart by Ganyru on stage 8 whereas on the other 7 levels before it there was no resistance whatsoever.

Sorry to be redundant but just wanted to add my 2 cents.

I bought this this afternoon and agree that, to say its under-par is an understatement. I paid 24.99 and have a
sour taste in my mouth to be honest. It looks just a like
a ps1 or ps2 straight conversion. The textures havent improved AT ALL and Namco should be blushing... shame on you!

Gonna trade it in boxing day more than likely.

Poo.

i have just got this game and im terrible. When i went online i got slaughtered but i think its a really good game. Graphics are good, gameplay is good, scenario campagin is good and so is the original aracde mode.

Overall im enjoying it at the min even though im rubbish paid £25 pound for it so i think its a good buy .

Also, Turning motion blur off makes the graphics look better and im willing to try and beat you just let me know if you want a fight, i will lose i think but im not fussed. mic is broken at the min so i wont be able to talk.

I have to admit that I am loathed to put too much time into Tekken 6 now; the arcade version (BR) is really good, but I do feel a little let-down now.

Azazel is a joke. Won plenty of first rounds, but that elusive second, the boss gets insanely cheap. If you put it to one round fights, it seems that the boss goes into 'super cheap' mode again.

Nice.

I appreciate a challenge, but quite frankly, it's absurd. I know lots of people have beaten Azazel, but I can bet plenty more have not!

As a result, it leaves the story/Tekken Force mode, which, is er ... okay, but a bit lame at times.

Tekken 6

Loving my copy but just one question ...... I thought when you equip your character on the customize screen the clothing would be reflected in the scenario campaign gameplay? is this not the case or am I doing something stoopid?

I got this game for Xmas along with Left For Dead 2 and Resident Evil 5, and with those 2, Tekken really didn't get much of a look in.

I had a go through, and it's fine for a quick few matches with mates, like old Tekken was. Online you spend far more time waiting for a match up than you do playing, and the scenario mode is tedious.

Worth a tenner for when your mates are over, but not a game that holds its own against some of the great titles that are out there.

Exactly my feeling as well! The scenario mode is really repetitive. Online is laggy as hell... The arcade side of it is much better. Still though, not enough to keep me playing it. Im off to Game for a trade in!
