Hopefully this just affects a small minority of consoles i.e PS3 consoles.

No problem with overheating for my 360, I've installed all three disks and played for a while.

Enjoy the game.

Well, to be fair, the three discs take an age to install.

I've played the first hour or so and it's coming along nicely although I managed to balls up my first 'interrogation' on the streets.

Hmm, watched the video review of this and seems kind of slow paced for me. Might rent it to try it out...

It is slow paced to start off with however from the reviews I have read it picks up through your career.

1st hour review - starts slow and takes a while to get into moving around finding the clues. The first lot of cases are very much learning the controls and all that. The only thing I'll really say for now is that sometimes, getting into position for finding clues is a bit tricky now and then.

The face work is brilliant. If you turned the sound off, you could quite happily lip read the characters and know what they were saying. Absolutely stunning work.

I have discovered that I am pretty poor at interrogation

Absolutely loving it, can get pretty tense when doing interrogation, under pressure to get it right!

It really makes you think about the evidence - it can only get harder from here on in.

How do I know what my star rating is for each case?

looking at a guide, it says u can check the stars by looking on the cases in the main menu.

cases can be replayed which im glad as i can just play through the story first and go back and finish the cases properly.

Anyone managed to apprehend a bad guy yet? All of mine so far have gone in a body bag and taken away in a 'R' hearse.

impressions after about 8 hours of the main story

pretty dissapointing so far. the foot/car chases are really simple and only last for maybe 1 minute max and theyre very easy. with the foot chases all you do is hold on to RT, literally no effort involved.

the gunfights are also very clunky, moving from cover to cover sucks so bad (its not just me is it?). ive played 8 hours and have only had 3 gunfights - not complaining or anything, but just letting you know if youre thinking about getting the game. i think you can have more gun fights if you do street crimes (theres 40 of them), but im sticking to the main story

the crime scenes just turn into you tapping A over everything hoping it finds something

the cases go like this: look around the body - tap A find clue - go to next destination and look around, tap A to find clue - go to interagation - make arrest

it all feels very mechanical and like the gameplay is just a side setting in the game, just something to keep your fingers occupied until the next cut scene

so overall really not impressed. the black dahlia case seems to be becoming more prominent now and it seems like its becoming an overall story arc(about 12 cases in out of 21 overall), so still hoping it picks up and shows us something more.

EDIT: oh also, if anyone is having trouble with the camera, go into the settings and turn one of the options off. it makes it so you control the camera with the right stick instead of the camera automatically centering itself - much better

The game bugged out on me about an hour into it.

There's a case where you're outside a shoe shop. I examined some evidence and it added 2 further locations to my notebook. There was a woman in the shoe shop that I could interrogate, but I decided to go to one of the other locations first, so I drove across town to another shop.

When I got there, I started talking to the guy in the shop, but he made a run for it and a chase started, but as soon as it started I teleported back outside the shoe shop. The cop next to me was shouting for me to chase the guy from the other shop, which was way across town. There's no way I could drive all the way back there and catch up with him, so the case failed. When it restarted, I was outside the shoe shop, but as soon as I took one step, the chase music started again and the other cop was telling me to chase that guy from the other shop again, so it's stuck in a loop.

Looks like I'm gonna have to start over.

Yeah, that'll probably work mate. I quit out of it when it messed up, so I'll try it again later.

Based on the amount I played, I agree with your impressions too. The facial animations and story telling are great - I'm just not that taken with the actual gameplay at the moment. Hopefully I get more into it the more I play.

So just to confirm, you can install all 3 discs before starting the game? Approx. how much space does it take up?
