I have a feeling it is going to end at the lighthouse where the game originally began.
I didn't entered my code til it was released as thought what's the point.

DLC is more of the same and thankfully free, wouldn't have got it if it wasn't.

I've just paid 560 MS points for the Signal episode

I thought all DLC would be fee if you bought the collectors edition of Alan Wake? I feel a bit robbed to be honest, it's not worth the 560 MS points. I did manage to get 100G from it though

I was going for the Fast and Furious achievement at the end, but didn't get it due to having a right game destroying all the TVs in the room before you get to the boat. I've since found out that if you miss it first time 'round you've got to go through the entire episode again. Sod that!

The Signal is free to anyone that bought a new copy of Alan Wake, regular or collector's edition. There's a code to download it in the case.

Yep, I've got the code, it's still in the case. I could of got it for free afterall. For ****'s sake

At least I'll get the next installment free

EDIT: I just entered the code and it's stating "You already own this content" Obviously, I own the Signal episode but why can't I just enter the code now for future downloads? More importantly, will this code still be valid for the next DLC for AW?

I've only played the very beginning of The Signal, but first impressions are good. I like how it feels like a dream, with locations changing randomly, as in real dreams.

So far so good, I just hope they can keep a steady stream of DLC coming.

Sold my collector's edition a month or so back after getting 1000g and needing the cash, knowing I'd want to play the DLC. Really need to find a copy so I can play The Signal, damnit!

Just finished Episode 3 last night and can now understand a few of the negative comments I've been reading.

Still enjoying the game.... just, but walking around the forest at night is starting to grind on a bit now, as soon as a cut scene shows Alan jumping over a fence into vegetation my heart sinks a little.

Hopefully the nest Episodes will add a little more variety.

It does get better - Episode 4 features a fantastic set piece To be honest I found Episode 3 to be the worst, as it was a real grind to get through.

I got this a s a freebie when I got my Slim - Really not sure if I should start it or trade it in...

I've missed the reviews but wasn't this game supposed to be a huge exclusive - what's not to like about it it?

I would say it's pretty good and certainly worth a play through if you have it as I doubt trade-in would be worth much.

My main critisism far is it's a bit repatative, personally still quite enjoy the combat so don't mind that side of things, it's the forest at night environments that are starting to become a bit tiresome for me.

A few people have mentioned Episode 3 that I've just completed is about the worst for that though so hopefully I'll start enjoying it more again now. Either way I very much doubt I'd go for another play through and bother with Nightmare mode, not too much into achievements these days and think it would get on my nerves going through again.

Some love it, some like it, and a few really seem to dislike it, only way to find out is to play it yourself so I'd say give it a go

Got this last week as a first purchase for my slim, finished it this morning, must say I loved it, the atmosphere and presentation was fantastic and the soundtrack was perfect. All i need now is a code for the DLC as my pre-owned copy didn't seem to have one, Don't suppose any kind soul on here has a spare knocking around?
Cheers

Can someone who's finished the game tell me if you are just trudging through forests waiting to be attacked for the majority of the game?

I mean is there a forest bit on every level?

Is that all it is or a slight variation of that theme all the way through?

If so, mine is going in the classifieds

I thought the DLC was ok but after complaining the main game was too easy on hard, the DLC went the other and got far too difficult in parts !

It had some good monents though like when you blast open the furnaces. Some good ideas and ill def be buying the next DLC

Quite a lot of it is 'trudging' through forests although there is a fair bit of it in the town and cabins etc, its a game that needs to played at three in the morning with the lights off and the sound up. Its all about the atmosphere and story so if your not getting into it you might as well flog it

Got all the achievements in the DLC apart from the one where you have to complete it in one sitting without dying once

Has anyone achieved it yet?

Think I'll give it a go tonight but I can't see myself trying long to get it due to having to restart the DLC upon death

Played it through last night. Didn't get the one for not dying or doing the last battle in under 1:30. Just gotta save those flare guns. Was pretty challenging though, so getting the one for not dying will be a bitch.

Yeap flares and flare guns are great. I saved my 2 flash bangs and used 1 on each of the 'walls' as they are very effective

Well, after feeling a little unsure after Episode 3, it has to be said I've really enjoyed playing Episodes 4 and 5, so much more interesting and fun to play.

Makes me think it's a shame there are doubtless alot of people that would have given up after Episode 3(for me the worst Episode so far).

Looking forward to the rest of Episode 6 later, and then onto the DLC.

On a side note, just listening to the limited edition bonus soundtrack cd, some great music in this game and the cd recording is fantastic, can see me playing this one a fair bit which will make a change as usually don't bother with soundtracks(haven't heard "Lion in the Coconut" yet though, it better be on there).

Yeah i love the music in this game Poet and the Muse is fantastic

Im just going through the signal at the min, im actually stuck on a bit which is weird as i walked the main campaign, im happy to see they mixed it up a bit with some interesting mechanics, shows they had more up thier sleeve but maybe didnt have to to implement it in the main game, or maybe they just want to hold stuff back for DLC/Season 2.

Either way im quite enjoying it.

I think they've put the difficulty up a notch in places in the DLC. I like it because it encourages you to run more than in the main game rather than stand and fight.
