Prob won't get a chance to play until Saturday

My copy has arrived. Shopto manage it again, despite Royal Mail's efforts.

I ordered Uncharted 2 and Brutal Legend on a whim on Tuesday just gone. Uncharted 2 arrived yesterday, Brutal Legend arrived half an hour ago. Can't wait to get stuck into some heavy metal slaying.

haven't got it yet, but have u seen on the menu with the guys hands turning the pages? it's jack blacks hands as it showed the making of the game on playr.

The bit before you see his hands is cool, makes a great change for an intro.

Been watching mumbo playing his today and this game ROCKS

will have to trade some games in at the weekend

Is there any good deals going on with game or gamestation, trade a new game in like halo odst and pay 9.99?

gamestation normally do these deals, sepends on what games though, im hoping to get the last 2 firefights done tonight and then i have finished ODST, maybe they will have a trade in on 1 of them.

The soundtracks you unlock as you play is just great...in total 107 tracks from all different bands....Black Sabbath, Testament, Judas Priest, Motorhead etc.

Managed to squeeze in a quick burst of this last night - completed the bit that makes up the demo and then the first mission. It RAWKS! After seeing Zombieland's opening credits earlier this week (which uses For Whom The Bell Tolls by Metallica), I'm really feeling the retro metal at the moment.

Will dig out some old albums later.

Some great old bands in the soundtrack.

Have come across Lemmy and Ozzy characters in the game....quality!

Have met Ozzy, but not Lemmy yet. It's all very cool! I just love how perfectly it captures the feel of heavy metal. Everything about the game oozes care and respect for a now-unfashionable form of music.

I have noticed a bit of slowdown when moving about, not all the time, just now and then. I haven't installed the game to the hard drive so may give that a go and see if it improves.

Have got the machine gun upgrade for the Deuce now, makes taking down enemies a whole lot quicker.

same as me karl, i made sure i didn't go near the games shops today, i would have caved in, i have brutal legend on my rental list as there are too many games coming out, i think borderlands, left 4 dead 2, and cod mw2 are the only ones i will be actually buying, other games are on the rental list.

In two words....Hell Yeah!

The whole gaming world is heavy metal themed. The tree trunks in the game are swords, mountains made from V8 engine blocks, the characters, the soundtrack, the weapons, the script.....just rocking.

It'll be right up your street Tony. Play the demo to get a feel for the effort gone in to the game but read the reviews for the gameplay. The demo is very linear just to introduce the controls.

The real gameplay is open world exploring, RTS and a bit of hack and slash.

Just played this for the last 2 hours and havnt realy enjoyed it, i am a big metal fan and once you get over the music and cameo's its just the same thing over and over it could have been made on the ps2, i think i have worn out the x and a button cos thats all i seem to be pressing. I hope the people that have bought it are realy enjoying it but for me this is going back tomorrow morning.

Well its a refreshing change from some of the pap on the market and I for one am enjoying it plus it hasn't been hyped up like some games.

Don't understand your saying it could have been made on the PS2.

There is more to this game than pressing X and A.

the hack and slash part i thought was a bit last gen, i think i was just dissapionted cos i had hyped myself up so much. And i personally cant stand rts games and i got stuck at an 'rts' bit on the game got annoyed and turned off the xbox and got ready for the pub!

Well I'm not a huge metal fan, and I am LOVING this game so far

. Admittedly, I like some metal here and there, and have quite a big soft spot for the 80s and proper metal, but I'm hardly an avid fan. And yet I love the world Tim Schafer and his team have created. Okay, so the secondary missions are a bit repetitive/easy, and the Druid Plow handles terribly, but those (very minor) drawbacks aside, this game is FUN.

I have spent hours playing this game with a big grin plastered across my face, and I honestly can't think of the last game to inspire that reaction from me.

The world feels so familiar, and yet utterly alien - it's just perfect. The story feels a bit light, but the characters and humour drive it on in a compelling fashion. Plus the background "legends" (if anyone else has found a few of them) are classic metal through and through - that odd combination of tragic quasi-mythology from the great Norse sagas and so on, but with the levity and quirkiness Schafer is famous for.

Way better than I thought this was going to be. 9/10 so far.

Anyone know if I can get back to bladehenge/the original land after the battle and encounter that results in Lars' death ?

The route has been blocked by fallen rock and I still had secondary missions to do and probably some more serpents/legends/relics to find.
