Actually it's Marvel vs Capcom 2.

Personally, I Cant wait for this!

All of these old "vs" games are big faves of mine from when I had my Sega Saturn-Darkstalkers/XMen vs Streetfighter etc etc.

I really hope this happens, loved the game on my Dreamcast.

I hope its a HD remix.

I guess it will cost 1200 (maybe even 1600) points

HD Remix was superb and for me has become the definitive version of SFII. SFIV is also brilliant and when we get the championship update should surpass HD Remix's online play.

Given HD Remix and SFIV is there really room for another Street Fighter game..? If the visuals haven't been touched ala HD Remix then I really think not!

You could have a point there but I found the gameplay in MvC2 to be more frantic and fast paced.

Where as on the surface SFIITHDR and SFIV have a more technical and slower feel when compared to MvC2.

But then again it could just be that I had no clue what I was doing when I last played Marvel vs Capcom 2 all those years ago and was just mashing buttons like a mad man.

Also if I remember correctly MvC2 was 3 vs 3 and allowed you to tag in other characters and use other characters for help.

Plus I really want to play as the Marvel characters and do some of their crazy special moves.

I was a big fan of MvC back in the Dreamcast days and I know what you mean by new characters, tag team mode and such... but its the same core-gameplay underneath all that!

Lets hope the visuals are touched up (and maybe even updated!) and it arrives just as interest in SFIV is tailing off... and blows us all away

I hope that happens too.

According to a post on Joystiq.com the website tu4ar.com might be a teaser site for the game and according to tu4ar.com we might find out something about the game in just over 5 days.

I was a massive fan of the Game on the Dreamcast and infact......... Just having a bash now LOL, god I have missed this. Be intresting to see how good this looks via Live Arcade.

Guys,

This is now confirmed, from eurogamer.

Capcom has confirmed rumours that Marvel vs. Capcom 2 will return soon for both PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade.

The game will be released this summer, although there will be a PSN-exclusive demo for the US on 30th April, which will follow in PAL territories soon afterwards.

And while you'll have to pay 1200 Microsoft Points (GBP 10.20 / EUR 14.40) on Xbox Live or USD 14.99 on PSN for the privilege of playing it, what a privilege.

The codebase is lifted from the Dreamcast, and although Capcom hasn't updated the graphics to the same degree as last year's Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix, it does include two optional filters to smooth them out - "crisp" and "smooth". Mmm, crisps.

We also get the return of 56 characters from Capcom and Marvel's extensive stables, and they're all unlocked from the start, so you don't even have to be any good at it to access the likes of Ken and Akuma.

Plus of course there are online matches, including HD Remix's popular Quarter Matches, which allow for up to four people to chat while the main duo go at it head to head. The network code is based on HD Remix too.

"I think it's fair to say that every day at least one member of the PR or marketing teams receives a mail from an ardent fan demanding to see this title back, and it goes without saying it's always a hot topic on the boards," a spokesperson told the audience at Captivate 09 in Monaco last week.

"So it's great to finally put a smile on their faces and save them some money, because believe me, the original console versions of these games are going for big money on some of those auction sites." Well, thirty quid.

This is great althought there are far too many games coming out for me to play all of them with work and family commitments

Tell me about it and i am 36, why were games like £50 & £60 a pop on the SNES yet we can now get them for far less

; looks like i am going to be spending all summer on fighting games, with this SFIIHD and SF4

Great stuff, cant wait, I would have been happier if the characters where locked, but its looking great I have to say and the fact that its a port of the DC version is a plus too.

No actual confirmed date from Capcom but Marvel (via the way of Joystiq.com) reports that in it's Q1 financial results that the game is expected around 29th June (subject to change).
