Battlefield 1943 (UK Release: Out now!)
I've seen this discussed on the various Bad Company threads, but I don't think it has it's own dedicated preview thread.

There's a good preview over at Eurogamer

One good thing is that private matches have been confirmed.

Cost is estimated at 1200 to 1600 points.

As someone who's gaming time can be a little restricted, I quite like the sound of this stripped down Battlefield.

Big fan of Battlefield on the Xbox but for some reason i have my reservations about this one. Looking forward to BC2 more.

trust me i think this is going to be fantastic dont forget they will no doubt add more maps as time goes on be excited very excited

I think I'll check this out if the price is right, but I imagine it will be 1,600 MS Points which seems to be the current trend of late, e.g. the GTA4 episode and Watchmen.

1200 point price point mentioned, private matches, clan support and the ability to spawn on any squad member (not just the leader). All sounds pretty good to me.

I have to say this looks great. Nice to see a developer actually acknowledging a few of the shortcomings of a previous game, too.

Surely they've got to release this before Bad Company 2. All they've said is Summer so far for 1943 and I haven't seen any release dates for BC2 yet.

BC2 is 2010, so 1943 should be out well before unless it hits a serious delay.

BF2 - the complete collection, arrived yesterday only £5 from the hut, I know its old but have to say I thought it was excellent. Played wake island 2007, looking forward to playing this map with prop planes in 1943.

Well with 4394 kills you are a lot closer to getting it than i am mate, especially with nights like yesterday when the lag makess it unplayable. Hope 1943 doesn't have the same lag

I miss BF2. I know its full of dolphin diving muppets but if my pc wasnt powered by an asthmatic hamster and held together with sticky tape id still be playing it.

Hopefully the squad system in this will be half decent. Im hoping that im not building it up to be something it wont be.

Ahhh the battlefield games were ace. I remember playing the BF2 demo as if it was a full game, even though it was just one level I played it for days on end. The battlefield and rainbow six games on pc were my induction into online gaming. Great days.

There's an Achievement for getting 10,002 kills called Beans Bullets Bandages and for some reason I really want to get it.
