Deal of the Week

I've just realised that we don't have a deal of the week thread, so here you go...

This week's deal of the week is Puzzle Quest at 50% for 400pts.

Although I seem to remember it being 1,600 pts when it was originally released.

Re: Deal of the Week

Yeah it's the first (and best) one. Originally it was 1200ms points and i felt i got a bargain at that price.

400ms points is a steal

Re: Deal of the Week

Noticed it last night on the homepage. Asked around and the general concensus was that it's a cracking little game, and 400 points is an absolute steal! So i bought it!

Re: Deal of the Week

I really want the Burnout DLC to be in the deal of the week. I'm holding off on buying it because I know that as soon as I give in, it'll be 50% in the next week's deal.

Re: Deal of the Week

There were 2 versions of Puzzle Quest on the 360. I think this one is the first that was originally sold for 800points. The next one was released for 1600 and is still 1600 (I believe):

Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords (2007) Metacritic Score - 87 - (Originally 800 points down to 400 points)
Puzzle Quest: Galactrix (2009) Metacritic Score - 76 - (1600 points)

Not 100% sure on the above so apologies if I've made a mistake.

This is a much much better game than Galaxtrix in my opinion. I loved this one, but hated Galactrix.

Re: Deal of the Week

Just played the demo and thought it was very good.

I'm undecided whether to buy it on xbox live or through itunes?

Probably end up getting both.

Re: Deal of the Week

Well I went ahead and purchased this one yesterday, still not sure if it's my thing(only game I got hooked to of this ilk was Zoo Keeper on DS) but at 400 points and with all the glowing reviews it seemed too good to miss.

Maybe see if we can organise a few online games(with fellow n00bs of course).

I thought the demo was ok(this was at time of release) but a little dull, if it had been just a little more like Age of Empries for instance with some combat it would have made it 10 times better, almost as if microsoft were afraid to send our little avatars into battle

Do you mean on the web, or on the console itself? Major Nelson usually posts up forthcoming deals on his blog HERE. The deals are usually shown on the Spotlight Channel in the dashboard, or you can just browse to the content in the marketplace, or buy it via the marketplace website HERE. The deals are for Gold members only, so if you buy via the website, you'll need to be signed in with your Windows Live ID in order to see the reduced prices.

Anyone know if that still counts towards that EA promotion where you get 800 points back

No, that ended about 6 January.

I bought Battlefield 1943 for 560 points when that promotion was on and was tempted to try to get the two Mass Effect DLC for free, but didn't think it was worth the risk.

Ah, is it? Sorry for my duff info then.

That said, I see the T&C's now state: "cannot be combined with any other rebate or offer", so presumably if you buy the Mass Effect DLC this week it won't count towards the rebate.

Understandable really, as I could've bought the two DLCs for 200 points each to add to Battlefield 1943 at 560 points. If the rebate applied to that lot I would've had the three downloads for a total of 160 points!! Which is never going to happen.
