Cell Factor

Has anyone played it yet? I'll give it a blast tonight and report back.

Quote:
CellFactor: Psychokinetic Wars is a fast-paced first person multiplayer shooter. Choose your side in the battle of technology vs. humanity. Manipulate your environment and kill your enemies with your choice of gunfire and/or telekinetic superpowers. Use your mind to rip objects from the environment and smash them in any direction or use your powers to create a bullet-proof energy shield. Flying, teleporting, and accelerated speed give you countless ways to kill or be killed. Take on the three single player challenge modes (one mode for each character) or battle live enemies throughout the world in one of four multiplayer modes!

Really? Very surprising for an Xbox Live game

I played the demo but also found it quite dull to be honest, nothing that tempted a purchase despirte the sensible price tag.

Re: Cell Factor

Well, I'm with you guys. Played the demo and didn' think much of it. Impressive for an XBLA game (graphics, physics, etc) but it didn't grab me and BF1943 is right around the corner...

No voice chat is very odd, though I suppose there are always the private/party chat options.

Re: Cell Factor

I actually quite enjoyed the demo and imagined it might be pretty good online espeacially for a XBLA game but no voice chat is a big negative, can you get into games relatively quickly?

Ranked matches seems to be fairly easy to get a game, does seem to have quite afew people playing it I've only had once a few times when it would put me in a game with only 1 - 2 people in it.

Of course we'll see when everyone gets the achievements if it dies or not

May give it another go later, never know and for the achievements of course

Re: Cell Factor

My 6 year old is really enjoying playing the demo, so maybe this is a suitable game to train juniors in the art of the FPS. He has trouble with the controls on Halo but has jumped into this and perfected moving and looking around simultaneously now.

It's a simple arena deathmatch game, an Unreal Tournament lite of the previous gen's standard. If it had appeared on the orig Xbox, I imagine it would get 5 or 6 out of 10. Today though, well like I say, you have to have the expectations of a 6 year old to think this is a good game.
