Firstly, apologies if this is the wrong forum.
For those of you who trawl all the sub-forums here - I'm the guy who has a Panasonic Home Cinema System which refuses (most of the time) to output DD5.1 via an Apacer HD Media Player box and WDTV Live box via an optical cable. Even an external DVD player won't play the soundtrack correctly. (See
http://www.avforums.com/forums/strea...-new-post.html).
I'm going back to basics - more or less - but having trouble.
I've downloaded .mkv & .avi files which contain DD5.1 and/or DTS soundtracks. What software (free preferably) will burn these onto a DVD so that I can slip the DVD directly into the Panasonic and have the original soundtrack/s still there to select. I've tried many free conversion programs but the end result is just a stereo soundtrack.
