5.1 SPDIF output Vista MC, can't get working!!!

I have media centre setup to 5.1 SPDIF output and I have the realtek HD audio setup for 5.1 but the rear speakers are not being activated. I have the Logitech Z 5450. They work when hooked up via optical to my DVD player but not my vista media centre pc

I have set everything to 5.1 but no avail. SOmeone shed some light I beg you

I think you need to select spdif instead of 5.1 in your realtek HD audio setup.
can you select spdif in your realtek HD audio setup? if not is the vista drivers
installed?
