Disable Vista Media Center Autoplay

Hi,

I'm running Vista Home Premium just for the Media Center. I have it set up pretty much OK - I can standby & resume with no problems!

The problem I have is with inserting a DVD; Vista Media Center will always Autoplay the DVD. Obvioulsy I can press "STOP" but it's annoying(!) and also when resuming from standby, if there's already a DVD in the drive it will autoplay which can cause the PC to hang.

I have AnyDVD & Cyberlink PowerDVD 7 installed - I have checked & disabled all autoplay options in these to no avail.

In MCE 2005 I'm sure a pop-up used to appear asking did i want to play the DVD, this doesn't happen in Vista Media Center.

How can I disable DVD Autoplay in Vista Media Center?

Thanks

Re: Disable Vista Media Center Autoplay

I'm new to Vista but I think there is a "Default Programs" section in control panel, you could try there?

You don't want to break the association though, just the autoplay bit. Err dunno really.

Re: Disable Vista Media Center Autoplay

Yeah there's a section in "Default Programs" called "Change Autoplay Settings".

Just been in there myself to disable auto playing of DVDs. Doesn't specifically mention Media Centre but hopefully the settings apply to that as well.
