Where to buy a Vista media center pc?

Hey all,

I'm on the look out for a Vista media center PC, for £500 to £1000, with at least two freeview tuners (or more if possible!). I'll hook this up to my Samsung LCD.

Anyone got any recommendations???

Ta muchly for any thoughts...

I'd just get a PC with Vista Home Premium and add you own TV card (Hauppauge Nova-T-500 works great for me).

As long as you don't want something that looks really pretty, Dell Outlet will sell you a very cheap system.

Re: Where to buy a Vista media center pc?

Take a look at the Fujitsu-Siemens Scaleo EVi 2535 as it seems a very good media center PC for the living room at a good price.

See http://www.fujitsu-siemens.co.uk/hom...scaleo_ev.html for details.

The online shop http://www.fujitsu-siemens-shop.co.uk/ has it for £770 so it is one of the best value living room media centers (with Vista Premium) you can buy.

Specifications:

Intel® Core™ 2 Duo E6300 (1.86GHz, 2MB L2 Cache, 1066MHz FSB)
Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) X3000
250GB S-ATA Hard Drive
DVD±R/RW drive (Double layer)
2GB DDR2 SD RAM
Dual DVB-T/Analogue Tuners
Multi Card reader
Wireless LAN
HDMI, VGA
SCART IN and OUT
2x IEEE 1394
4 USB 2.0

Re: Where to buy a Vista media center pc?

I fancy something that looks more DVD player than PC, and the Fujistu looks just the thing...

I've seen photo's and it looks like it has two free pci slots at the back - anyone know whether they are free (full height) pci slots? Also, is there room inside to add another hard disk?

Re: Where to buy a Vista media center pc?

Having had a hunt around tinternet and forums, I think I'm going to try and built a media center rather than buying an off-the-shelf unit.

Thanks to all for the thoughts!
