Error 80072F8F - When running Windows Update?

It worked fine the other day but now gives the error "80072F8F" whenever I try and search for new updates??? I've tried:

1. Almost all fixes relate to the PC date/time being wrong. I've checked Windows and the BIOS, both are fine.

2. I've tried synchronising with the Windows Time server to be sure.

3. Turning off SSL as suggested here: http://www.sagewire.org/xml/msxml3dll-erro...721-226218.aspx

4. Using regsvr32 to register Softpub.dll, Wintrust.dll, Mssip32.dll (I'm unable to register Initpki.dll as Vista doesn't seem to have it), as suggested here: http://www.updatexp.com/0x80072f8f.html and here: http://update.microsoft.com/windowsupdate/...px?articleid=12.

5. Unticking "server certificate revocation" from Internet Options as suggested here: http://www.updatexp.com/0x80072f8f.html

All without joy. Any ideas? Thanks
