Strange. Can't see why it would drop by 0.1 at all. Seeing as there has been an update released for WEI scores since Vista RTM'ed. Re-run the test.

Would drivers be an issue? Are they different for 32bit and 64bit systems?
Anyways, my base score is 3.0 :/ but I don't have a graphics card so...

Re: Whats you Vista Score ??
yeah, I thought it was strange too.
I completely removed drivers and reinstalled them and it still stayed at 5.2. Then my machine wouldn't boot a few days ago so I had to repair the boot file.
It then said new hardware detected, then i was prompted to re-rest and it was back upto 5.3.
Doesnt really mater though, still work the same plus I have a 4850 coming for xmas.

Re: Whats you Vista Score ??
I would not get to disappointed about your scores chaps, (or excited for that matter). A colleague of mine went to all sorts of extremes to get the best score and it did not mke a lot of difference to using Vista for his gaming, and no advantage for normal computer use like web browsing or word pro etc. In fact he replaced Vista with XP Pro because he does a lot of media work with Adobe. If you find your system seems slow for files copying or moving or applications installing then this is a Vista problem that is really not fixable. Seems the good advice if you have performance problems, (on your PC I mean!), is install XP.

Re: Whats you Vista Score ??
Vista is now a superior product to XP is most ways, I can't believe they are still so many XP fanboys around.
Yes XP was and still is a great OS, and So is Vista.
No one here (I hope lol) is upgrading their PC just for the sake of the Windows vista score, they are upgrading because their machine needs an upgrade.

I apologise if I gave the wrong impression, I also think Vista is extremely good, much better than XP for those with no technical skills, and no time or inclination to mess about learning them. I wanted to give assurance that the performance score given by Vista is not really something to get too worried about. The Quad core Vista machine I am using now has got a score of 5.6, (that's the RAM subscore), but I use my old dual core XP machine for video editing because it quickly processes large .avi's under XP that brings this Vista machine to a standstill. The point was that if you require performance consider XP, not because it is better it's just more efficient with the resources of the hardware.

Re: Whats you Vista Score ??
Well, I just built my first PC and installed Vista last night and got these...
CPU (Intel Quad 2.4ghz) - 5.7
RAM (4gb DDR2) - 5.9
Graphics (ATI 4670 512mb) - 5.9
Gaming Graphics - 5.8
HDD (Seagate Barracuda) - 5.9
Overall 5.7. Quite pleased with myself for a first effort
