am i right with these assumptions

Please help me understand!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
am i right with these assumptions

1.Ive built my media centre and to watch sky through it i needed a mpeg2 codec.
So im trialing nvidea purevideo.

2. I can watch dvd through media centre via its own dvd codecs without getting any extra software.

3. If i get my movies addon i could then get the theatretek and ffdshow to be my native player in mce.

4. If i get thetretek i dont have to buy nvidea purevideo for watching tv as its already part of thetretek.

5. If i rip a dvd to the harddrive via mymovies then it still plays via theatretek+ffdshow (when set up)

Re: 1 & 2, a DVD codec IS an MPEG-2 codec - same thing. If DVDs play you don't need any extra software to play recorded TV.

just to reiterate then

1. Does theatretek play dvds straight from the dvd player if i have mymovies loaded.
2.if i get theatretek i dont have to buy nvidea purevideo to watch sky through my pvr150.

Cheers Ben

Just to clarify point 2 though: Media Center does not come with it's own DVD codec.

1) You can use theatertek without my movies, my movies is just a plugin you can watch and dvd disk with theatertek.
2). theatertek comes with nvidia codec so yo would not have to buy it seperate.
