Assigning MCE audio streams

Hi there,

I'm looking to put an LCD in the bedroom to link up to an MCE machine. Although the TV has built in speakers, I've got a feeling they wont be the "Best in Class" for audio.

So, I want to also connect an amp with in-ceiling speakers to the MCE machine.

Questions for you.....

1. Would I be able to control both the TVs speakers and the amps speakers by using a motherboard with SPDIF and analogue jack or would I have to install another sound card ?

2. Is MCE able to assign audio streams depending on what is playing ? For example, if I wanted to watch TV, the sound would come from the TVs speakers and if I switched over to listening to music, the sound would come from the speakers ?

Cheers,

Richie.
