Recovering display settings in safe mode

I need some advice regarding changing display settings from safe mode please. I can start my MCE2005 machine in safe mode OK but owing to safe mode resolution settings, cannot access the bottom three buttons (OK/CANCEL/APPLY. I've tried using the tab button/return and taking a stab at it highlighting the right button but it wont do a thing (I guess because the buttons are not in view?) There's no scroll down available either. Which is a shame as I can select the correct resolutions for my LCD screen in this dialogue box, I just can't apply them.

So..... unless anyone can offer some advice on accessing the display box (don't some people use remote access from another XP machine?) then it's a fresh install by the looks of things, which might not be a bad idea actually.

Any advice greatfully received.

Ta,
Jon.

If you adjust the slider with the mouse then the OK button should be highlighted anyway, so hitting just hitting 'enter' should do the trick

Thanks for the quick reply oneEleven, sometimes it's the simple things that fly out of your head when faced with something like this. I can't say for certain that I did try that, I'll certainly try it when I get in tonight though.

It just seemed to me that if the buttons where not displayed, they didn't work using the hit and miss tab/return method. Is that a win 98 thing parhaps though. I'm using nvidia's display setting dialogue box for a 6600GT card BTW and there is no onboard graphics to fall back on either, unfortunately.

Ta,
Jon.
