Roxio Easy Media Creator 8 seems to kill my Media Center application!

Before I install Roxio 8, my preferred decoder (according to DecCheck) is the Sonic CM(R) DS Videodecoder 4.0.0.1. This must be replaced somehow by the installation, and I can no longer play back my recorded files.

I'm using Ghost, so it's not too hard for me to take the software on and off. Can anyone give me some hints on how to get this installed? I want to use it to do some video editing of the TV I've recorded and converted to mpeg.

Are we allowed to bump?

Anyhow, I'd love to hear from someone who has got Roxio 8 working without breaking MCE, or suggestions for some good video editing software.

I've got Roxio 8, but don't let any software like that near my MCE...I mean it doesn't have an MCE interface, so it relegates the machine back to a normal Windows desktop in relative low resoltion....

No, thank you....I edit the video's, if need be, via the network....VideoRedo is great to automatically remove the commercials, but then I prefer Womble to actually edit anything in real MPEG2 without re-encoding it.....
