Recording VCR to HD via MCE

I've a couple of home videos on VHS that I'd like to copy to DVD. Thought I would plug the cable from the VCR to my TV card then scan for additional channels from within MCE then record the "live TV" that was appearing i.e. the VHS tape from the VCR.

But nothing - doesn't see the VCR at all. Anyone any ideas how to do this?

Cheers
