What moree hardware?

it's feeling a little like a bottomless pit at the mo
just when I thought I was all sorted I was running through the TV setup, got the digibox recognised and configured, so far good...then I get this message

IR Hardware Not Detected

Media Center cannot detect the hardware necessary to control your set-top box. Make sure that the IR control cable and the remote sensor are connected and then select Try Again.

Currently I have a small wireless keyboard (not branded) that uses IR and also a Logitech Surfman mouse also IR...

Is it therefore looking for the MCE Remote?
Do I need this in order to continue with the TV setup or will something else be ok to use?

I use a Kameleon UCR-8060 to control all the other electrical kit so could this be used in any way?

Yup. The MCE Remote and IR receiver come with some IR blaster things that you tape to the front of the IR receiver on your digibox.
