Some weired changes to my MCE

Since having my Sky installed on Thursday, some things in MCE have changed. Two things in particular.

1. I can now change the quality of recorded programs... fair, good, better, best etc.

2. I have 'Radio' as an option in the main MCE opening screen.

Is this normal ?

Hmm,
Having sky installed in itself cannot have caused these things to show up in media center. However let me address them one by one.

1 - This option is only available when using an analogue source to capture the tv signal, e.g sky or ntl, and is not there when you use a pure mpeg2 stream source such as dvb-t,s,c e.t.c Therefor you may have enabled the option when you chose Set Top Box in the tv setup wizard.

2 - That is stanger, however there are explanations. Have you installed some new tuner cards? This would also explain 1, Some of the analogue capture cards have built in FM radio recievers that work with media center. If not, have you gone into online spotlight, opened any of the online radio service such a live 365 and chosen to bookmark a station? As this will cause the radio option to show up. Best option is to open up My Radio, and see if you can tune any radio, or if there are any bookmarked internet radio stations in there.

Good Luck

Yes to both.

I have changed to sky, and therefor changed from the DVB-T card, to an analogue card.

The card in question was a Hauppuage PVR150 MCE, so i guess that answers both questions

Yes that explains everything and the PVR150 MCE does contain FM radio support, so enjoy your new radio.

Cheers
