Blackgold DVB-T or MCE2005 support Subtitles?

Hi,

does the blackgolds TV tuner cards support subtitles or does MCE 2005 support them?

Thanks

mce supports subtitles via the usual teletext page ONLY IF YOU ARE USING AN ANALOGUE TUNER and the tuner is directly connected to an aerial. I believe ntl and sky filter out the teletext data, so you wont get teletext/subtitles with them.

DVB-T cards use a totally different scheme for "teletext" data (mheg) and as such it isnt supported yet.

Hi 9761

The black gold card does support freeview teletext and interactive features. Unfortunatley media center doesn't, and from a source inside ms, i have been told that it has been put on the back burner as it isn't high enough priority compared to the us hd features. So i guess the uk get's shafted again for the sake of the U.S

However, GDI the makers of the Back-Gold card are planning on releasing a piece of software that will enable the interactive features as a third party application. As of yet i am not aware of an E.T.A or whether there will be a charge for the software, but it's good to know that someone is working on it.

Cheers

Gareth
