Is DVD decoder trial enough or do need to pay

I've installed Intervideo WinDVD again since a re-build. I remember the WinDVD application did say its expired and I needed to activate/pay but XPMCE seemed to work OK. Was this some stroke of luck or is this correct and therefore i will never have to pay even after 14 days?

The latest trial works for 60 days so you'll have to pay for it or find another.

It depends on thier protection I am sure they have locked down windvd as you say you can't access it but maybe they haven't locked down the decoder being used by other apps i.e MCE so then if thats the case then yes you won have to pay.
