Anyone using a gigabyte 7VM400M mobo with xp?

I'm considering switching motherboards to a gigabyte 7VM400M because of the hassles in getting the asus onboard spdif output working correctly under MCE. I've chosen this one because
micro atx
socket a
meets the 1 agp, 2 pci min spec
also has serial ata should I choose to use it
has a header for spdif on the board (will need the optional bracket or more likely make one up myself)

Soundmax drivers that ship with asus boards are having all sorts of trouble getting the spdif output to work correctly under MCE (can be fine in other apps) and despite playing with drivers I've not come up with a working STABLE system, hence the theory of switching. It'd be a great comfort to know that another user is already using this board in this way with MCE without issue

Cheers
Duncan

I would avoid the gigabyte 7VM400M board with a passion! Nothing but trouble! I had to return mine twice because of problems with the onboard sound.

What problems have you had ...? Mine is setup and running OK but the spdif m/b output doesn't feed my amp all of the time, sometimes its OK but usually I have to manually stop the pvr\dvd playback and restart again - familar or different problem with you? Who did you buy the board from ... and was your board an RZ version with via sound h/w or a non RZ realtek version?

Cheers
