Trouble upgrading Windows 7 - Compatibility

Im trying to upgrade to Windows 7 from Vista but I cant get past checking the compatibility stage. It says that I need to uninstall Avira Antivir but I already have. Both Windows search and program manager says that Antivir isnt installed anymore.

Any ideas on how I can progress? I cant get past that stage.

Thanks for any help.

Re: Trouble upgrading Windows 7 - Compatibility

It looks like Avira Antivir is much the same as many other AV programs such as Norton, McAfee and AVG in that the Windows Add/Remove programs does not fully uninstall them. To completely get rid of Avira Antivir you need to download and run an uninstall utility such as those available from Here.

Mark.
