There is some chatter that MS are already working on SP1 for win 7 as a build alludes to this Windows 7 Service Pack 1 Build 7138 if so would this be a feature update ???

The whole story sounds bogus to me

We have no idea why Microsoft would start working on Windows 7 SP1 so early and it makes no sense of having service pack before actual Windows 7 release.

Standard practice. Vista SP1 was in the works just before Vista RTM. Has been this way for ages. Nothing different or new.
