Art Style: Orbient

Haven't bothered with any WiiWare games in ages as I don't have points & simply haven't been driven to buy any, this game has just got me tempted to search for another points card though, just been released in the US at 600 points and looks like an interesting little game.

Quote taken from the IGN review:
Quote:
Art Style: Orbient is a game that only uses the A and B buttons of the Wii remote: no waggle, no D-pad, no other action buttons. You control a planetoid traveling through a variety of planetary systems. To maneuver through space, you have the ability to attract towards and repel against the gravity that the planets have ... one button turns on "attract," the other "repel." The idea is to collide your planetoid into same-sized spheres which will increase your size. When you're a bigger planet, you can attract smaller bodies with your gravitational pull and turn them into orbiting moons. When you've grown to a big enough size you can move onto the next system by attracting that system's "sun" with your gravitational pull. Any moons that you have orbiting your planet will turn into extra "lives" in the next round -- and trust me, you're going to need them.

Orbient is an incredibly mellow, relaxing experience, but at the same time can be one of the most challenging games you'll ever play. It's amazing to play a design that can be so much fun and have so much strategy using so few buttons on the controller. The move to the Wii enabled the designers of the original Orbital to improve on its concept with better visual cues, more vibrant visuals, and improved music with a fitting, haunting beauty. Orbient still isn't quite a "looker" and honestly makes you wonder what it might've looked like if the Wii had the ability to display higher resolution visuals. And there's the whole idea that the game could have been better if there'd been online leaderboards attached to its score-and-time based gameplay. But Orbient is all about artistic simplicity and it succeeds admirably.

Reminds me slightly of the Mario Galaxy gravity pull stages(which I really liked).

Re: Art Style: Orbient

It may look simple but it sure looks addictive . 600 points seems like a decent price too....one to watch out for then (hopefully it'll come to Europe soon ).
