Bomberman Blast Discussion Thread

Just bought this today on Wiiware. Gonna give it a go. Trying the online but not having much lucl connecting to anyone... but then it is 04:11am.

EDIT: Have just played online and have to say it's good fun.. best Wiiware game so far imo.

EDIT 2: If you have 4 remotes and 4 gamecube pads you can play 8 player local multiplay!

Thanks for the info Amph. I'm gonna get me a Wii points card this week so I can get it. Would you suggest getting a classic controller for use with this game or do you think the remote is fine?

Hi all,

I have had this game 2 days and love it - but when i try to go online I go into a 2 player game with my girlfriend as im waiting for gamers to join. It then says on the bottom :

A 6 player game is available.
then

A 7 player game is available.

I press everything and nothing happens - were stuck in this mini game

then

An 8 player game is availble

And still nothing - were both stuck on this mini game !?

Any advice?

Don't think it supports anything other than Wii remote, but that the job just fine for me as the controls are fairly basic.

If you liked the old versions of Bomberman then definitely get this. It can be pretty manic when there's a load of people playing but great fun.

Not too sure, have had it since release also. At first I tried joining a Wordlwide game which seemed to fail. Then I tried continental and it was fine. Then yesterday I tried joining continental which dropped out a few times during gameplay, so I switched to Worldwide and that was fine!

To be honest I think the servers may be a bit temperamental but I've had lots more success than problems.

Hope you get some success soon.

Not sure if it's 8 player local (can't check right now). I imagine it'd only be 4 player as Wii only supports 4 wii-motes (as far as I know). If you're set up online though you can play up to 8 people at a time. They can be registered friends with the game or strangers around the world.

iv read somewhere this game will be alteast 8 players local but that could be when its released on disc

Apparently you have to use gamecube pads/wavebirds + wiimotes for 8 player local, quite tempted by this now ...... :

on some sites it says thats its only 4 players local... need someone with this game to confirm i suppose

Good news...

I sync'd my 3 remotes and plugged my two gamecube pads in and BOSH! 5 player. There were three other slots available on the screen so I imagine if I'd had one more remote and two more gamecube pads i'd be in 8 player heaven.

So Mulder... get to it!

Had 5 of us playing this at my house on weekend and it was brilliant fun. Though the sheer madness of it left about 3 of us with stinking headaches!

Was great because there were 3 non-gaming girls over and they all absolutely loved it.

Ladies love Bomberman. Apparently.

im in the process of buyin another gamecube control pad then that will bring my total to

4 gamecube pads
4 wiimotes

now that will be fun

iv got loadsa nephews an nieces plus brothers lol

I just downloaded this last night and three of us had a quick go - we were very impressed.

Tried all the modes at least once, I think the crown one was our favourite but they're all good. Managed to unlock the miis as well which was cool.

We also tried it online and it worked really well, 3 of us and 4 randoms fighting it out. We had to wait a bit whilst playing the bomb dodging mini-game but probably wasn't more than a couple of minutes. I don't know why it has that ".. player game is available" message, it makes you think you need to do something to connect to it but I think you are just supposed to wait and let it sort it out.

It's great that it supports 8 players on one console too, I've got 4 wiimotes and 2 gamecube controllers so I'm already set up for some 6 player offline games. All in all, this is an absolute bargin for £7!
