Newbie question - how exactly to get wiiware games -will points from purchases do it?

Just got a wii so bear with me - still trying to get my head round nintendo points, wii points etc.

So I have joined club nintendo and registered console, wii sports, wii fit and one game - got 2100 points?

Is that laughably little? How many do I need to get a game eg World of Goo?

How else can I boost them other than doing this - is it just buy the cards?

thanks

what you have there are stars.... you need to exchange them for wii points at the nintendo points card shop from the stars catalogue, these are then redeemable in the wii shop for anything.

You can do that online at Club Nintendo (see here: Swap your Stars for Wii Points - Nintendo - News ).

The stars to points ratio though is quite poor in my opinion:
100 Wii points costs 400 Stars
300 Points = 1200 Stars
500 Points = 2000 Stars
1000 Points = 4000 Stars

You're also restricted to how many stars you can swap/how many points you can redeem per day. So basically if you were using this option to get points then you will need loads of stars which basically means buying lots of official Nintendo peripherals and/or games like Mario etc.

I personally just buy points from the shop on the Wii channel, you can use a credit/debit card to do this and 2000 points will cost around £14.99 although you can get other amounts of points for more money. Or you can just buy points cards from various shops.

Games can cost anywhere from 800 points upwards. World of Goo for example costs 1500 points.
