| Re: How to connect a wii to a PC monitor and get sound?
In no particular order:
The Belkin product is a KVM switch; the particular one you've selected allows you to plug your VGA monitor into the box together with a USB keyboard, a USB mouse, your PC speakers and a microphone. Each set of leads go into a PC base unit.
In short, the idea is to have two PC's controlled by one set of peripherals.
The only way I can see that this would be any good to you would be if you were planning on hooking up a wii and a PC to the same screen.
The TV cables look like they might be useful, with the RCA gender changer that would leave you needing a component cable for the wii (another £20).
The VGA input on the screen is for the video only, there should be a stereo jack next to it for the sound.
The wii component lead will also have two RCA plugs for the sound, so you will need an extra lead: two RCA sockets to a 3.5mm stereo jack plug.
I have a Samsung 910MP. This is a PC monitor with a built in TV. This has (in addition to the VGA input) both scart and composite video.
Surely it would be a lot more economical just to use the scart?
