How do I play MP3's on the Wii?

Okay, I'm pretty good with these things, but for the life of me I cant get
MP3's to play through the Wii, have tried a MP3 cd (doesnt recognise it)
Tried putting normal encoded MP3's on the SD card, but their is no sign the Wii detects them.

Am I missing sommin?, read reports that you need to go into the photo channel, yet still no options their to play anything.

Can the Wii actually do this?, would be really handy for me, think it would be great with the Wii interface to just point and click on what track you want to listin too!.

You play them from your SD card via the picture viewer option. Look at photo's, play MP3's

I just stuck mine straight on the card and it works. (you can use your music in Exite Truck as well) Did you connect to the internet and get the update?

There was a piece of paper in the box that said you have to, to enable playback.

Yep, lol, have asked this question everywhere.

Good news is yes, through the bizzar array of menus and options I got to play them, little dissappointed, thought they could have done sommin pretty good with MP3 playback on the Wii

Hi Guys,

I may be coming here a bit late but isnt the easiest option to set up Orb? I set mine up last week and now stream all my music and podcasts through to my TV.

http://www.orb.com

HTH,

Gareth

I had the same problems mate, I could not connect them from the same PC (so just gave up) I then just tried from the WII and it worked.

Just check to make sure the ports in your firewall work ok and I am sure you will be fine.
