Quick question...

Just bought a Nintendo Wii from the US, but I am living in Argentina. The voltage here is 220. The power supply for the wii is 110v and 52w. I have a transformer 220v to 110v and 50w and another 220v - 110v 100w transformer . Can I use either of these transformers for the Wii? Thank you.

The Wii's power consumption is fairly low and I suspect either of those will work although the 100W one is probably a better bet. I have a US Wii too but I use a 750W transformer simply because when I moved back from the US I brought back several US electronic products so I needed the higher capacity. The back of the Wii should state what wattage it uses.

I think this question is more appropriate for Tetlee who happens to be one of the moderators on the Nintendo forums and has lived in Argentina and has a US Wii. Hopefully he will chime in or otherwise you could PM him.

Hi BCjake & welcome to the forums, the second stepdown transformer you mentioned should be fine(220v - 110v 100w transformer), I used to use a 150w version but was higher than needed(100w is more than ample), just happened to be the one the game shop I bought my console from out there gave me with the purchase.

Argentina had a close one last night with the qualifiers didn't they? And that rain!

Thanks for the input guys. I thought the 100w would be fine, just wanted to be sure.
