Re: downgrade firmware 4.1j help!!!

From what I understand, no.
Friend of mine has the same issues, but reversed, he wants to play NTSC games on his PAL machine.
Doesn't work, he has it chipped, and the guy who chipped it said, don't U/G your firmware..
He didn't listen...
He has tried too down grade his firmware, won't work.. Or he can't, I never really listen to him as he waffles about the Wii a bit..

Re: downgrade firmware 4.1j help!!!

The simplest thing to do would be install the Homebrew Channel on your Wii and then using Gecko (a Homebrew application) to load PAL games. (Take a look here Homebrew Channel - WiiBrew if you've not heard of this)

No need to be mucking around with downgrading your firmware, it's a potential minefield.

thank you, but homebrew seems complicated too!! (sorry, I aint that technical minded!)

ve just heard people talking about using a DVD to downgrade to a firmware ready for freeloader.

so is it easy to install and use this gecko thing?! does it work for my jap wii 4.1j?

Re: downgrade firmware 4.1j help!!!

I've not heard of this DVD you mention.

Homebrew Channel is very easy to install. Just follow the instructions here.

The Homebrew Channel

Once you have the home brew channel installed, you can run Gecko from an SD Memory Card and then load your PAL games.
