Re: What Gamecube games to get???

Oooooo i remember that was a good game alright. Cant hardly get gamecube games anymore now. Really want some of the gd titles on it like pikmin, mario, metal gear solid. Some of these games are hard to get and when you get them are really expensive

Re: What Gamecube games to get???

Call me a sad act but I really enjoyed Luigi's Mansion.

Resident Evil 4 on the Cube is the best version in my opinion.

Mario Power Tennis is good also

Burnout 2 was always one of my favourites, also recommend F-Zero, Pikmin and Fire Emblem(if you like that type of game).

Re: What Gamecube games to get???

Maybe a bit controversial, but mario kart double dash I thought was the best mario kart game.

Just had a really nice feel, much better than the mario kart wii IMO.

Although it wasn't my actual favourite, it did have something special about it and that was the co-op aspect of the game. My wife really isn't a gamer at all, but she loved taking the weapon duties while I did the racing in double dash, great thing was a second player can also punch when not holding any weapons, and steal weapons from the AI, hugely underated aspect of the game IMO.

Re: What Gamecube games to get???

Since noone has mentioned them yet:

Metroid Prime 1 and 2 - essential GC games
Timesplitters 2 - flame tag multiplayer = win

and yes,
Resident Evil 4, if you don't already have the Wii version, and Mario Kart: Double Dash (the second best Mario Kart IMO - I like the DS version even more)

I would wait on the Metroid Prime games as the Metroid Prime trilogy has just been released in the US with enhanced graphics and Wii controls for the first two games. Hopefully it will be released here.

Re: What Gamecube games to get???

How can that have slipped under my nose unnoticed?!!

A quick search on Amazon shows that Metroid Prime Trilogy is indeed being released in the UK on the 4th September - for the princely sum of £35! That is a sure buy for me then!

Also, if you can find it, get Skies of Arcadia: Legends. Fantastic game if you're into RPG.

Also the fact you can do cups in two player mode on the GC mario kart, but can't on the wii version!

Actually you can (sort of!!).

In multiplayer mode, the team race / solo race select screen has a RULES button at the top right of the screen. Click on that and you can select which tracks you race on. To race a cup select IN ORDER for tracks and then exit the rules screen. When you get to the normal cup/track select screen just click on the cup you want to race. You will see the cup name and the tracks listed below it. Click on the 1st track to race through that cup. You can pick a different cup track to start on by highlighting it before clicking on the cup or by just clicking on the track name. Pretty neat.

In the rules screen you can set other stuff like the pickups (off, crazy, recommended etc), engine size, mirror tracks (if unlocked), AI racers on/off or AI difficulty level, number of tracks to race on / random tracks if not in cup mode etc.....

You can't unlock other cups this way (at least I think you can't) but you can play a cup with up to 3 others.

A few people haven't noticed the rules screen mode in multi-player but it adds quite a bit to what you can customise.

EDIT : corrected for accuracy!!

Don't forget Killer 7!

I use the Gamecube Freeloader on my Wii to play US Gamecube games - some of these are still at decent prices.

The Original Resident Evil "remade" is amazing on the cube along with resident evil 4.

Luigis Mansion was a giggle.

Also, Sega Soccer Slam was a Nuts footie game...well worth getting

I have to disgree, it is a great game but if you are going to get it, get the wii version, there is nothing more satisfying than shooting a villager in the knee before removing his head with your handgun whilst aiming with the wiimote. the controls really make the wii version special

The original has been released on the Wii too now.

Resident Evil Archives: Resident Evil (wii) reviews at Metacritic.com

It's got mixed reviews though.

Not 100% true, it is now available on the Wii (althogh I think it is just a port, nothing extra added)

Re: What Gamecube games to get???

I stand corrected. I knew of resident evil archives by title only, didn't realise it was just the origional res evil. its a shame they havent added wiimote control as thats what makes res evil 4 so good!
