Hello.

Have a look here:
http://www.avforums.com/forums/wii/4...here-only.html

Normal separate price for wii fit is £70ish and wii console is £180ish......plus you might consider getting another wiimote (buy WiiPlay for this - you get one with it).

If you happen to be travelling from Heathrow terminal 3, the HMV there sells all the Wii packages tax free making the Wii Console and Wii Fit bundle a bargain £182.74. You can also get the Wii Console + Virtua Tennis + Wii Motion Plus for £170 inc. They also have a bundle with a Wii Console + Mario Kart + Grand Slam Tennis also for £170 but it was out of stock as of Friday 11 Sep 09.

The Dixons in Terminal 3 also has a bundle deal but it's pretty rubbish which is what you'd expect from Dixons. £217 will get you a Wii Console + Mario Sonic Olympics + extra Wii Remote.

Re: Wii console and Wii fit. cheapest?

Dodgy_Geezer,

I called HMV in Heathrow terminal 3 and they quote £199.99 for Wii Console + Wii Fit bundle. They also mentioned that is the tax free price. You think the price has gone up or I'm not somehow getting the correct price?

Just realised 182.74 is 15% lesser than 199.99

Re: Wii console and Wii fit. cheapest?

I know this is an old-ish thread now but if anyone's looking for this bundle the cheapest I've found is, believe it or not, in-store at Blockbuster.

Wii Console with Wii Sports, Wii Fit and 1 month of free rentals for £219.99

If you want an extra controller they'll do a Wiimote and Nunchuck for £30 if you buy at the same time as the console. Only thing to watch out for is it's listed in their promotional material on the shelf as £219.99 but their discount barcode lists it at £229.99. I've had it confirmed (when buying mine tonight! ) that this is a head office cock-up and the price on the shelf is correct.

Really couldn't find a better deal on the highstreet and the best I could get on-line was about the same (roughly £175 for the console, £53 for the Wii Fit which comes to £228). And yes, this is all new kit

giri_uk, the price has gone back up and £199.99 is the new rip-off Britain tax free price

All you need to do is look at whatever the console is selling for in the HMV shops and take the 15% off. The Wii Fit bundle here at the HMV web site now lists the Wii Console + Wii Fit at £234.99, up from £214.99 less than a week ago. 15% off £234.99 is indeed £199.99. Bit odd of HMV to bump up the price given the new Wii Fit + is out later this year, you'd think they'd be trying to offload the old kit.

Even worse though, the Wii looks stupidly overpriced now that the PS3 has had a hefty price cut. In the Middle East, the new PS3 Slim actually sells for around USD $50 less than the Wii making it a no brainer in the console stakes. And the Xbox 360 is cheaper still, before long, you'll be able to pick it up for free with 5 tokens from Kellogg's Frosties

Having had a look at the games on offer as well, it seems the Wii is saturated with crappy party games and kiddie titles with little else to recommend it. As for the motion control, I found it to be a gimmicky contraption that loses all appeal after a mere 5 mins and will have you throwing the thing at the TV long before the batteries run out.

Just my two pence worth and I am (or was) a Ninty Fanboy

For some reason I think the Wii Fit price went up recently. For a while most places were offering it around the £50 mark, now it's more like £57+ unless you find a decent discount code or something. Also, we're coming into the Christmas season so the really good deals get rarer as stores find it easier to shift stock.

All is not lost though, there are strong rumours that the Wii will see a $50 price drop in the US soon taking it down to $200. That SHOULD equate to about a £30 price drop here so figure you'll be able to pick one up for around the £150 mark. Think Nintendo have a big conference event thingy coming up in the next couple of weeks, that'd be the logical time to anounce it.

The relative merits of the Wii are, I'd suggest, best left for another thread but I would say it's not as hopeless as you make it seem. There are some spectacularly good 'traditional' games for the platform, Mario Galaxy being the most obvious example. It's not as well catered for in that regard as the other two but as a console to appeal to a wide range of users it's arguably the best option.
