using someone else's wii point code

anyone know if you can use wii point codes that someone else has got from swapping star points?

i'm not sure as you have your wii linked to the email address that you use to redeem your stars

Are you both in the same region of the world?

I've got two Wiis and accounts and regularly redeem points codes from one account on the other Wii. (If I'd seen the thread earlier I would have spoken up sooner

).

If you are in different regions it would be useful to know .. .. ..

I'm pretty sure that just like Xbox Live points Wii points cannot be used across regions. For example I have a US Wii and can only use Wii points bought from North America.
