Re: Wii component cable not delivering audio

whats it connected too ? Have you connected the Audio to a amp, an AV reciever, or directly to a TV ? Also, how was it connected before ?

You also need to connect the red & white stereo cables to something as well (amp, tv, etc), component doesnt carry audio.

The component cable consists of five phonos. There is a red, green, and blue for video and a red and white for audio. Typically on the TV they would be grouped together in other words right next to each other. Assuming this is the case with yours are you sure you have them all connected together in the right place.

Can you post the make and model number of your TV as well as if possible a link online to it's specifications.

It could be the cable is faulty. Regardless in all honesty IMO you should have bought the official one as the unofficial third party ons generally aren't as good.

they are in the same place and all connected.

my tv model is a Pioneer PDP-436SXE 42 inch plasma according to the manual.

here is a link to it on pioneer's site. but i would just like to say our's is mounted on the wall not on a stand :3

please reply!!!

EDIT: i found a widget where you can turn thorugh the manual. go to page 12 and it has a rear view.

Re: Wii component cable not delivering audio

It looks like the two audio connections are outputs only and are designed to channel the TV's sound into an external sound device like an amp. Infact that TV is pretty unusual in the way the sound works for the component input. If you look at page 52 of the manual on how to hook up a DVD player the same principle should apply to the Wii.

Apparently the sound input for the component is input terminal 2 or the middle scart connection. At a guess I would say if you took the two audio connectors from the component cable and plugged them into a scart block or adapter and then connected that to the middle scart connection the sound should work. That's what it seems like from looking at page 12 and page 52 of the manual.
